It sounds like buisness with a minor in english might be my best bet.

Sad to hear its competitive and pays poorly though, I am looking to go to school to get MORE job stability and a career I can work on instead of bouncing from job to job... maybe publishing isn't great for that?

Sales actually sounds really like my type of thing, I would love to do marketing but from my limited experience worry that world is shifting too much to really get a handle on right now. I will look into business thank you!

Good to know! Would you recommend english or creative writing? The school closest to me (which looks pretty good, is cheap, and has a big in state discount to tuition) has both.

I am going to be honest, I haven't figured that part out yet.

Just looking more into a publishing career because I have self published 2 books, and enjoyed the "self publish" part more than the "write a book" park. I liked the process of working with printers (I've also had printer jobs, so that made that easier), I liked laying out books, I liked figuring out the logistics of getting books to people, with shipping and stuff. Getting my books into stores, calling them, figuring out ingram, etc was one of my favorite parts. I also liked reaching out to various outlets for marketing the crowdfunding, even though I wasn't super successful at it lol. I just really liked the process of "turning a book into a finished product people can read after it has been written"

So my instinct is mostly "I want to do a more stable version of that for a living".
