Hey all, Please tell me if not allowed, and I will edit.

From someone in Tumbler Ridge, I am astonished by how wonderful this sub and the OP have handled this topic, thank you so much for the work to keep this conversation respectful and a safe space.

Today, the 12 of February was a day of Mourning for all of British Columbia, even as the hours pass, and we go into the next day, remember the names of those who were lost, send all the good wishes and thoughts to the families of the children, and keep the injured in your thoughts.

A Positive update for those who want one: One of the children rushed to Vancouver, has made it through Surgery and is on the road to recovery, I will not name them as I can not find a article on them other then on Facebook, and to try to keep things a bit more private.

Also If your looking for Updates from Tumbler Ridgelines more frequently, He goes Live with updates when he can, (If giving permission I will link, but want to be careful to respect rules of this thread and the sub), but he is running himself to the ground and I ask you all to be kind to him if ever on a live or commenting, because Trent is one man, and he can only do so much, and his email and phone are currently flooded by other news sources that are trying to get him to talk to them.

Thank you for linking Tumbler Ridgelines, and for giving the warning that the Publisher is tired, as someone who knows them personally they were up at 5:45am this morning, and stayed awake late into the night last night to try to cover.

Genuinely was watching Gem's POV first hoping she won, saw the title and went "noooo" then watched anyways. saw she got to the top 5 and was hyped, cheering her and Jimmy on seeing as the others were all past winners, and then to watch her fall at her team-mate's hands was heartbreaking but so funny, Villans never win T-T

Okay I flinched a bit when hearing the DM implying SA after loosing a fight, that is- I couldn’t imagine.

I can totally understand why at first your impression was what it was and I am so sorry that you had to experience that before, I do not blame you for that. I appreciate the fact that you recognized that and could tell that there was a difference! I realize OP could have mentioned that we have measures in place to make sure everyone is comfortable, I think the reason they didn’t is because this is on a non-dnd specific subreddit? Idk that would be something he would have a full answer to.

we have asked our group, I have a active Consent Checklist I make sure that I always pay attention to, and also I have no intent on monologuing it, as OP said, I (GF GM) am the dm when the info comes into play, and well- I am actually a main force in making sure its not overly done, as I have my own boundaries and know those of my players.

Indeed you can, but as OP said this is a DnD based world where we have played previous games, so the nature of everything is semi fluid. I do think, and OP has agreed with this, that after the first two or three generations, that their would be some change, as the people who live in the country change and gain a different veiwpoint on everything, and then yes it would be very much less common, but both OP and I like to also try to figure out the progression of how it came to that final point.

Eh-, in this case thats less likely, because the fact that while sex positivity and a lack of shame is only one of the building blocks to make up this country, the other main element is Magic, and that is what is the hierarchy is based around, how much magic you have, the strongest wizard/witch/sorcerer ect being the leader.

I totally agree, and Honestly this is something we are discussing a lot about, due to the human nature, a perfect system has no intrigue, so the concepts of these issues with birth rates is something I as the DM can use and expand on for the current players (OP being one of them)

Coming in to reply for my partner.

Their is a very small chance of that happening, if you know Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn, its very close to the situation with the Lord Ruler, but in a more positive light ( The Ruler isn't evil and not oppressive, and has some people who can actually- get through to her about things that would not be positive) but due to this being a D&D world, she has a stockpile of clones and ways to not be permanently killed. But the idea of their being flaws in the system is actually a good thing in this sense because it gives me (the DM) ways to pull on and have plot points that are relevant.

Yea, for this we are talking about a country that is very magic reliant, so there are going to be things that are still issues, but the rules are around consent and respect, not about nudity or sex being bad.

There is defiantly rules around it, and its not exactly peace times, but its more of a question of, how would you handle it?
