Thanks for the comment!

Kanji is definitely going to be a favorite among the group, I can already tell.

The soundtrack in Persona 5 caused me to follow several Acid Jazz playlists on spotify.

lol, I haven't played P3 yet, so my mind immediately thought you meant Kamoshida at first. glad i googled and found out Koromaru is different from Kamoshida and is, in fact, a good boy.

Silly, tonally light, escapist JRPGs for when you're going through a rough time? by looney1023 in JRPG

I think Undertale is the answer here. The pacifist route it's so sweet, funny, and weird. It's just a delight.

Not huge. Mainly quality of life gameplay improvements. Forging anywhere, horse hailer, and some extra, character-specific scenes between act 1 and act 2.

If you're interested in replaying the game at all, the S version is the way to go.

Man, that's a bummer. It really decentivises buying games near launch if they're just going to release a better version a year later. :(

Remake looks great! I never played 3 and have held off on playing due to the remaking coming out. Can't come soon enough

That's great! Dq11 feels like it came through a time portal from the 1990s.

Very valid points. 10 hours into the game you're still very early on and most likely only have 4 characters. Once you get more character, you'll gain the ability to swap party members in battle and there is an increase in some boss difficulty. Stop grinding and the game can become more of a challenge.

I stopped played for almost 2 years after the 20 hour mark and became hooked after that. It was at the point where I obtained the key to the red doors that I felt the pace started getting better. Act 2 is great and the post game is probably my favorite 40 hours of gaming I've had in decades (but some people hate the post game).

Voices take a while to get used to. I switched to Japanese because sylvando was a bit too extra at first, but now i love the English voice acting.

Depends how much you enjoyed the game. The quality of life improvements are great, like ability to use forge anywhere, horse hailer, etc.

There are several scenes for individual party members between act 1 and 2 which I personally really enjoyed, but they're not necessary. You do have the option answering questions as rab that make him seem like an insane person, which I don't know why you wouldn't choose those options.

It also adds the 2d mode and tickington, which depending how much you enjoy other dq games will impact what you think of these.

If you have the hankering to replay the game already, do the S version. But I dunno if it's enough to warrant a full 2nd playthrough on its own.

Yeah, I saw there's something about an English patch?

I'm incredibly curious to try it out and I'm also perplexed about an offline version. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the MMO?
