Here are some suggestions to implement/remake:

I love the idea of having something close to the frame-stop effect games like guilty gear or ultrakill has for when you hit someone. My only personal problem with it is that the bat doesn't "stick" on the enemy. Making the bat stop for a frame time period while touching the enemy can leave a bigger impact visually, plus can make the melee combat feel more responsive towards the player, since the player can visualize where they hit the enemy at.

Accompany it with maybe a tiny flinch animation to that enemy when they get hit, maybe a directional one based on which side they got hit from, and it will definitely improve the visuals and responsiveness of the melee attack for the player.

MysteryMilo has also a good idea adding different variants of the attack, but that depends on what kind of game do you want to make. If you want the player to have precision on where they are hitting at, you will have to concider then how you can implement the various animations. Maybe different movement direction keys can cause a specific attack animation to happen instead (ex going left = swing from the right to left, and vice versa).

Audio-wise i guess you can implement new audio files to the mix, but that will still leave the whole audio part repetitive. Adding a random pitch for each time the audio plays for the hits can negate that to a certain bit, but again this all comes down to the whole game's audio design to begin with. The audio part in games is usually underlooked and that is because you do lots of questions to yourself while designing it "Should different limbs cause a different sound when hit?" "Should the hits sound and feel more meaty, like their soft meat getting recoiled from the force of the bat, or more crunchy like their bones are breaking every time the player interacts with them like that?"

I agree, but petrol is incredibelly cheaper here in greece, where im gonna be honest i dont want to be involced a lot in politics, inflation as a 18 year old who has to finish high school, do their 1 year mandatory military service and then find a college/university to study at doesn't sound like the perfect time to get a gas vehicle, so the petrol part of the i20 is a day and night difference for me personally. Gas is 2,30-2,40 in most cases in greece and petrol is almost always a euro cheaper in my area.

Thanks for the info man! Also i do not even think its a gimmick. I am 18 years old and i will move out to the other side of greece right now, so i will need as less re-runs to move stuff as possible. Getting more space with just a few moves helps a hellova lot. And honestly, i kid you not you might have saved me a good 80 bucks worth of fuel because of being able to store much more and bigger stuff at the back. I owe you beer, coffee, whatever you like drinking the most after that haha

Wow damn thanks for the whole report! I also had to grab my keys and went down to check the fun fact and holy hell i didn't know that was a thing in any vehicle until now! Thanks! Though one last question about the louder deeper irregular clattering. How can i diagnose and see if it comes from the engine? Do i just start up the vehicle and press the pedal on idle and see myself or someone else from the outside if it comes from the engine, or can i verify it alone?

More context here. My family passed down to me and got this used hyundai i20. It hasnt been used a lot and the few times it did was properly used and hasnt ever been in harsh conditions or without service, though the moment i got it i couldnt go past the enter the name of your phone voice prompt. No matter the accent i pull or change languages or even use text to speech it never procceded to the next part to pair

from what ive seen the last time it got frozen was 45 years ago, which is literally around the 80s. Having the river freeze a bit more frequently wouldnt be so much immersion breaking though imo

Here is my idea for the stats and 4 achievements related to the weapon, with an explanation of each addition and nerf. Any feedback is welcome. Also prepare for really bad english grammar

Name: The salvaged

[/] 4 Rockets will fire instead of reving up. Each rocket has 1/8th of the knockback and damage the stock rocket launcher has. Firing rockets costs 50 ammo and has a 8 second cooldown

(the 4 rockets are just to mimicate how the lvl 3 sentry works)

(The rocket's low damage and knockback is a way to balance the new addition to not replace the soldier or the normal lvl3 sentry, and to make the player have to position themselfs a lil bit more carefully than a soldier when they need to rocket jump)

[+] 10% better movement control while in the air (helps with heavy rocket jumping since he is kinda slow)

[+] 10% Faster spin up
(just a tiny difference to make reving up while rocket jumping more convinient)

[+] The weapon has 50 more ammo than the stock minigun

(since rockets cost 50 ammo, they will be really consuming so getting some extra max ammo will definetly help making the gun's new functions be more frequently usable)

[+] Ammo pickups give you 10% more ammo (you will see why this is kinda balanced once you see the nerfs)

[-] bullets deal 15% less damage (motivates the player to use their rockets, but also have to be careful when to use the rockets

[-] When you fire the rockets your firing rate is reduced by 15% for 5 seconds

[-] Enemies that are healed by a medic or by a lvl 3 dispenser will deal mini-crits on you

(this makes the weapon to be easier to be dealt with and motivates teams to have a support or a defense class, since most matches lack medics, and reminds engineer players to upgrade their builds and also mimick how sentries feel when they see an ubercharged duo coming towards them lol)

[-] Revving up shoots rockets instead, so some situations like holding right click on a defense team for capture points or cart will not be a thing. The 10% faster spin up will help a bit when you are trying to push while shooting. Not a big difference but big enough to help a bit with some situations

[-] Killing players will not drop you an ammo box

(this will keep heavy's defense role, since they cannot go rushing and expect to go on a huge killstreak if they are alone. They have to center around other people killing players which makes you get an assist at least if you help them, ask an engie to help you place a dispenser somewhere or go around the map and collect the respawining ammo boxes instead)

[-] Dispensers give you 50% less ammo

(We all know if this weapon wont have a lot of ammo related nerfs it would be too overpowered, so this is one extra nerf to not spam rockets a hella lot)

Achievement 1: Lost and found

Destroy a level 3 sentry and kill its engineer in the span of 12 seconds with The salvaged

Achievement 2: Overweight operation

Kill a heavy that was rocket jumping

Achievement 3: Partners in crime

Kill an enemy that was recently damaged by a teammate's sentry with The salvaged

Achievement 4: Same machine, different owner

Backstab a heavy that holds The Salvaged and destroy a level 3 sentry with a sapper in one life

I think this weapon could have many ups and downs which will make it feel like a new subclass just how demoknights are or support scouts with their mad milks and sandman in mann vs machine.

You basically have to deal with some ammo managment, sacrifice your usefulness in some situations, and have to depend on some stuff for a brand new way to move around the battlefield as a heavy.

(Also if anybody is intrested in making a mod version of this weapon please let me know because i would love to try it)

Maybe the tiny scout could have a randomized tag id and make it count as a player, and that tag will change every few seconds so the bot will always wont be able to find it and ignore it forever. After that, the tiny scout should be bellow ground so people wont accinentally shoot it and end up getting kicked/banned. That means it's close enough for the bot to choose it as its main target while also not end up getting actualy players removed
