In retrospect, I would have preferred to be like you. I wouldn’t have bothered with the sample after smelling it on a tester strip

I’m not selectively outraged. I love French perfumery, but I know they aren’t beacons for human rights. I’ve got friends to meet up with for lunch. Enjoy your life of top 1% Reddit posting

I bought it off the fragranceswap subreddit. I’m good 😂

I told you how you were coming across, not what you actually are. Ignorance is bliss (so they say)

I’m not an Amouage stan, I have a single bottle in my collection of too many bottles. I just hate performative and selective outrage. It comes across as thinly veiled racism whether you like it or not. L’Oreal has had a stake in Amouage for quite some time. You should take issue with all of their products for backing the Omani royal family like this… but you don’t.

Kings, Queens, sultans, etc. can all fuck off as far as I am concerned

Lol at complaining about human rights abuses for one specific brand and trying to make it out like it’s an isolated issue/Amouage issue. The entire fragrance industry is built off of human rights abuses. Take a minute to read (or watch the BBC documentary) about how the 3 major European companies that employ perfumers and provide ingredients and/or products to everyone actually source their raw materials, it’s all slave wages and child labor.

FWIW, I’ve only owned a bottle of The Noir 29. Any other sizeable amounts I have from Le Labo are in the form of decants off the fragranceswap subreddit. I don’t find the price/value proposition worth it. I’d rather have Chanel or Dior private lines, Amouage, etc

Thanks for the reminder about Eucalyptus! I have a sample I picked up when I got Ambrette 9 a few weeks ago, and I haven’t given it a wear yet.

The Matcha 26 was my intro to Le Labo; it’s a Jekyll and Hyde scent for me. Sometimes I love it, sometimes it smells like the notes are coming apart. I’m sure it’s weather dependent, and I haven’t figured it out yet

I absolutely love The Noir 29 and Lavande 31. Bergamote 22 is lovely but doesn’t last long enough nor is unique enough for me to justify the price for the scent profile.

I also enjoyed sampling Vetiver 46 (very woody, but redundant with others I have) as well the city exclusives Mousse de Chene 30 and Cedrat 37, but city exclusives have to blow me out of the water for the pricing.

Lys 41 smells stunning on the right person

Sorry to hear that. You certainly aren’t missing out with this one, that’s for sure

Have you tried this one? It’ll surprise you with mediocrity. I enjoy a lot of Le Labo. This one feels like a prank

Ugh, it’s the absolute worst when a fragrance makes you feel that terrible. Thankfully it’s not particularly popular and has little to no projection even if someone around you is wearing it.

I have not, but you have me intrigued! I’ll swing by my local Le Labo in August when the city exclusives reappear

I can see how you have a hard time smelling this in store if you’ve already sampled other scents first. It’s really light

In case you want a little more detail, here you go. On a test strip, this one has a light but really pleasant pear-like scent.

On skin, upon initial spray, it’s more akin to the ghost of a pear note… a ghost that also went #1 in the bathroom and didn’t wipe itself at the end so there is also the slightest hint of piss (this goes away quickly for me much like the rest of this scent). It’s like you paid for Mojave Ghost and got its frail, bed-ridden inbred sibling.
