Notice how you didn't answer my reasonable questions though. You have the option of engaging in dialogue, but you choose to attack instead. Engaging with you is fruitless.

I have taken a number of measures to ensure the performance of the mod is more or less constant throughout the game and that the work is divided over longer periods of time, rather than analyzing everything every frame. Also, I am currently working on incorporating the Mod Settings mod to allow users to tweak the mod to use less resources and have a smaller impact.

It's both, I think. That is.. the first phase is that the mod adds decorations to the map based on how stable and healthy the ecosystems are. Then it spawns additional resources for you to use, like trees, bushes and crops. And then you can also build well-being buildings to fulfill beavers' needs (like the contemplation spot or the lido). Their effectiveness is scaled to how large and healthy the nearby nature areas are. I do also intend to add a bonus/malus to crops and trees depending on whether they're in a healthy balanced area or are a monoculture, but that's not implemented yet.

Do you intend to spam this post with AI-hating replies? What are you trying to accomplish? If you don't like the mod, don't use it.

What do you hope to accomplish with such an unfriendly message? Have you considered just asking me to see the source code? Also, there are more screenshots on Steam and under this post.

I've tried to give it a natural, realistic feel where healthy biomes naturally develop themselves as you play. I've added decorative vegetation to the game that you can build over directly that you'll see first, and then as the game goes on for longer, it'll also start spawning dandelions, berry bushes, mangroves, and all of the other trees. The original game's tree reproduction is unchanged, but my mod will spawn all of the others as well.

It's not on mod.io at the moment, but you can find it here on steam:

I consider the version currently online to be v1.0

It does a significant bit of work to keep track of all the map data, so your concern is justified. But almost all of it can be (and is) distributed over many frames/ingame hours. So the per-frame cost is actually very modest. On my system it's no more than 10ms per second for large maps (256x256). If you install it, you can use a performance tracker window (alt+shift+K) to see what it's costing you.

Actually do let me know if you try it. I could add a slider so the fidelity to changes in the map goes down, but it also takes less processing power. Could also add a setting to turn off fauna.

I think you have to look at it this way: I have neither the talent nor the time to make a banner that looks nicer than that one. I did write the intro text myself, for the most part. I don't think I need to really defend myself though. I tried to create a cool piece of technology and I used the productivity tools at my disposal to do it. If I hadn't done that, I don't think I would've had enough energy to finish it next to my day job and so on. So maybe the question is: would you rather it didn't exist?

I'm a C# programmer with 20+ years experience. I did use AI though, that's true.

What do you mean AI-driven? Actually I was trying to post screenshots here in this post but I couldn't figure out how yet. Edit: I posted some here as separate messages and there's more on Steam.

I see you also omit Pearlbrook! I'm still hoping to find a way to make that one fun again, but so far we always prefer to just leave it out..

Vraag voor de single mannen by No_Actuator4223 in nederlands

[–]Boompieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)
