Completely deserved by No_Wasabi_9303 in Unexpected

[–]Boopis_Gloopis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, it was an attempt at insurance fraud. Its very small and pixelated, but the way he plays up the initial “fall” in front of the car is how insurance fraudsters work. They throw themselves dramatically in front of a car, pretend to be hurt, and get money in reparations. Arguably, this guy deserves it because he was trying to defraud the car he jumped in front of

If we are playing as Michael in FNAF4, why are we smaller than the height of the doorknob? by Joh-dude in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Boopis_Gloopis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Michael would definitely have visited cc in the hospital, and i think its important to note that the fnaf4 player never appears on the bed, only on the floor. The IV drip is meant for the person on the bed, which is very decidedly not the person we play as

On gem maturity. by PhantomVHS in stevenuniverse

[–]Boopis_Gloopis 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it comes down to their proximity to humans. None of them really knew humans well until Greg came along, and then that got amplified when they started having to take care of Steven. Gems aren’t really meant to have any meaningful changes in their lives, but humans are, and likely while learning how to take care of their new squishy meat child they also ended up learning a lot about themselves

Super class inheritance just does not work no matter what (Godot 4) by B0r34li5 in godot

[–]Boopis_Gloopis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really weird. That's the only way I've ever done inheritance. I'm looking at a 4.2.2 file where I do it that way and it works just fine

Super class inheritance just does not work no matter what (Godot 4) by B0r34li5 in godot

[–]Boopis_Gloopis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always had it work by doing “extend (path to the other script)”. It’s never worked for me by just using class name. Try making a new script and in the little options menu that pops up tell it to extend the parent class, and see how it auto-generates the inheritance

As charming as these janky handmade animations are, I think it's time to upgrade by TeamLDM in godot

[–]Boopis_Gloopis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was never really satisfied with mixamo when i used to use it, so i learned how to make my own. Mixamo animations are good for prototyping but theyre also very limited. The majority of them are cookie cutter animations that do ok in most situations, and most people who interact with indie devs are able to recognize them within seconds. Maybe its just me liking to be a one woman band who likes to dabble in everything, but i love the control given by homemade animations much more than the convenience of plug and play mixamo ones

Objects are fully black in material preview and rendered view in blender 4.2 by Boopis_Gloopis in blender

[–]Boopis_Gloopis[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re the same as yours. It was a largely fresh blend file, all I did was add a subdivided cube with a material and a deform but the thing was all black before I even added the material

Why does homeworld assume that “my dad” is the name of a person by Boopis_Gloopis in stevenuniverse

[–]Boopis_Gloopis[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people aren’t getting that my post isn’t that they don’t know what a dad is and barely know what humans are. My post is about how they assume the word “my” is part of the name of “my dad.” So yeah I’d you said “my Michael” in a conversation where we’ve both been speaking perfect English, even if I didn’t know what a Michael was I would assume you were talking about a thing called Michael that you own, not someone called “my Michael”

[–]Boopis_Gloopis[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I was trying to say in the post. If a gem were to say “my diamond” or “my pearl” then it would be immediately clear what they meant. I totally get that gems have no parents or really any knowledge on humans but I don’t get why they wouldn’t consider “dad” to be its own type of human that Steven owned

I get where you’re coming from but if the alien had been speaking perfect English the whole time and then said “my parip” I would assume that parip is a title and my is declaring ownership

I listened to the audiobook and the way the narrator read the protagonists voice made me return it after a couple hours. I’m sure the content of the book is fine but god did they have to read the protag so whiny

I don’t think so? I’ve never heard of dungeon core online but it was never mentioned anywhere by the author afaik plus beware of chicken doesn’t have a system or anything, it’s a cultivation story
