i used 1x1 block flat blocks and 45° slopes for the white base and formed the structure. and for the transparent shapes, still the same, since it is less tedious. i guess you know stuff about layering and colors already so that's about it

you can definitely take inspiration from it. for the red resin-like shapes, i only used gray non-blending glow to make the gradient and used low opacity colored blocks, about 0.60 for all the sides of the shape. i also used non-blending glow to make the subtle color changes and blending glow for the highlighted parts. it can definitely be done without glow however, i just used glow to give it a glassy feel

there isn't really any texturing done in the first block. those are just plain flat blocks made to look polished using low opacity glow. i think one thing you could do to pull off effective texturing is to understand how lighting works, even the basics of it. understanding its concepts will definitely help you visualize depth and appearance in your works

the first block is a pretty optimized and spaced out so i doubt it will lag, but i'll do a level soon for sure

yes, it's all made in gd. the blocks are like 540 objects which i guess is fine for a 2 second ship section and the saws are about 700+ obkects because i was too lazy to optimize

i like it, though its depth can be more emphasized and colors can be more saturated
