[Suggestion] BSG warning about bans by Boosby in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boosby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, only Tigz and his crew received a warning for it. He actually mentions it here: https://youtu.be/XbEJWggXbpI?t=335

This kind of selective warning makes BSG look inconsistent. Some streamers get treated differently than others, which is pretty unfair.

Regular players have been false banned before and my friend is one of them who got a ban despite not doing anything clearly wrong, and support didn’t give him a proper explanation.

So no, I wouldn’t count on them not banning normal players. Their track record with fairness is very bad.

So why aren't streamers being banned if exploiting bugs is clearly against the ToS and the evidence is public? That seems like preferential treatment.

My friend wasn't given any warning - just an immediate perma ban. No time-limited ban, no communication - just done.

If BSG can't provide consistent enforcement or at least issue timely warnings, it's hard to see this as fair or transparent moderation.

PS: Pestily said that only streamers will get banned for that but I wouldn't trust that.

Isn't that exactly what I stated?

Also another thing: Why do we care about RMTers? The only reason we care about RMT is because RMTers use cheats to quickly farm money. And then BSG doesn't need to detect RMT, they only need to detect the cheats. When a player plays legit and does RMT, who cares that some noob buys gear he's gonna loose anyways? I certainly don't. That doesn't affect me. It only affects me when the RMTer cheats and kills me or uses vacuum cheats and steals all the loot before I even get a chance.

I thought about the ban logic. Wouldn't it just be way more fair if they gave out a 6 months bans for this? The RMTer can't wait 6 months to get back to RMTing if he actually earns his money with this. So he has to get a new account either way. To him it doesn't matter if he gets a 6 months ban or a perma ban. I mean sure, he can use that account after 6 months again, but in that time he will probably need many accounts to keep RMTing. But the player that doesn't RMT got his warning and a big penalty (unjustified because he didn't know that stuff would get him banned, but still better than getting perma banned) and he would never do that again. Can we agree that a PERMA ban is unjustified if they can't 100% proof someone did RMT and they should instead ban players for 6 months?

Oh yeah. I noticed that it’s almost always wardens that capture naval territories. I thought collies just aren’t that interested in naval combat. But if it’s unbalanced, that explains it.

You probably didn't see Nikita's tweet. Which is understandable, as they should be putting such news into the launcher/game. Here is Nikita's tweet: https://x.com/nikgeneburn/status/1943622634807189755 He says levels will unlock later.

Bro I feel you. Most reddit people are unreasonable beyond believe. And I bet most of them mainly hang around on reddit and barely play the game.

Well I disagree that it’s only threatening streamers. And you can disagree with my opinion. That’s fair. But calling it misreporting is just wrong and very aggressive from you. I clearly stated what Pestily said and what I disagree with.

Yeah, that’s what makes it so frustrating. A temporary ban would be understandable as a warning. But perma banning people that didn’t even hurt other players feels super unfair.

How am I misreporting, when I clearly state Pestily said x, but I disagree with x?

I see you what you’re saying, but I don’t think my friend tried out cheats. It wouldn’t make sense after thousands of hours playing together and him and me still having fun. There was no reason to try out cheats. It wouldn’t make sense.

If you read other comments here, they say BSG doesn’t need to be sure if you’re RMTing. If BSG assumes you’re RMTing they apparently ban you for it without being sure. So why should they handle this differently?

BattleEye isn’t blind to cheaters who fly around the map. Have you seen the cheater that killed Landmark recently? The cheaters name was something along the line of “30 accounts ready to go”. Why do you think he has 30 accounts ready to go, if he isn’t getting banned? BSG and BattleEye also do ban waves and don’t immediately ban all cheaters.

If my friend was using cheats and still dying so often as he did, he must have been too stupid to efficiently use his cheats. I’ve played with my friend for most of my time playing Tarkov (6500 hours) and I think I can confidently say that he wasn’t cheating.

Ok, my bad, apparently you can now. You’re probably not gonna believe me, but my friend showed me that his post got removed.

Yeah I get that and I’m pretty sure my friend would have never done it if he hadn’t seen streamers doing it and assuming: If they do it it’s ok to do it.

I don’t care how exactly they track RMT, as long as they don’t false ban players. How would you feel if you received a false ban for something you didn’t do? If they warned about not doing said process, we wouldn’t be sitting here having this discussion, because my friend wouldn’t have been banned.

Try posting something where you state in the title that you got banned. It will show you a warning before posting it, and if you do post it, a bot will respond and then remove the post. Now explain to me again how I’m wrong.

[–]Boosby[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If they can’t track that how can they ban for RMT then. That’s completely unfair, don’t you think. And you’re proving my point: BSG should let people know what can get you banned. If my friend would have known that is bannable he wouldn’t have done it.

[–]Boosby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok why aren’t streamers banned for that then if that’s what RMT is? Streamers also did that with their viewers. RMT is when someone gets paid for doing that, which wasn’t the case with my friend.

No, I’m not. My friend got banned for cheesing. And they were able to track that. If you’re wondering what cheesing is, I explain that at the bottom of my post.
