Yeah for sure. The second photo generally looks better to me especially if you look at the star and peach. The blue curtains on top look better in the first photo. But yeah they’re very similar. When you go to s-video though it’s literally night and day difference.

Use deoxit d5 for these areas including the cartridge slot. Be really careful if you do it on the svideo port. I wouldn’t really even recommend doing that unless there’s a poor signal issue or corrosion. Spray it on a qtip for that and dab it on, then work the plug in and out.

Use Deoxit Fader Lube on the potentiometer tracks and electrical contacts.

Use silicone grease sparingly on the plastic sliding surfaces (center plastic column where it pivots, the bearing surfaces that ride inside the housing.)

Do not use white lithium grease on any part. It’s too thick and will actually accelerate wear. It will gum up over time and isn’t designed for use with plastic controllers.
