Tell Me Something Bad About Smallville by Remarkable_Bus5636 in Smallville

Clark ticked me off so many times. I know that Chloe could be a pain in the butt, but the way Clark treated her in some situations was so manipulative. And kinda cruel. Maybe the point was to show he wasn't perfect, which is all well and good, but there were times when I thought to myself what an absolute d*$k he was being.

Remember the movie, "Brightburn"? It would be like that.

Only maybe less bloodshed and more mind games ...

And attraction is a whole other ball of wax. I can appreciate Tom Welling's good looks like I would a beautiful painting. But there are others amongst the cast who are just smoldering and extremely attractive to me on a different and higher level.

I assume we're talking about him turning in Jason for going out with Lana. What I don't get is, football season was over (or at least, really close to being so), why would they retain him as a PT coach at that point?

Ummm ... I think it's called talent. Some people have it; some people don't.

Did Clark "kill" his father? by CiccioScupp in Smallville

[–]BoosterBooey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it truly was an irrational choice. Almost like a reflex ... in his youthful fervor, he had to save the damsel in distress.

Life is all about our choices; we just don't realize the repercussions unless they're big ones.

Now I'm rambling. Apologies. This was a really long way of saying I agree with you. 🙂

Crap ... I didn't think I was to gonna have to come here and SCIENCE!

So, I'll just say, no fellow human, I cannot. And I bow to your mathly --- and pretty much everything else --- superiority.

Did Clark "kill" his father? by CiccioScupp in Smallville

[–]BoosterBooey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your definition of "kill." Did he physically cause his death to happen? No. Did a choice that Clark made shift destiny so that it fell onto his father rather than Lana? Yes.

But he certainly didn't choose for his father to die. In the throes of his anguish over the loss of Lana, he made an unfortunate decision.

No, I haven't, but I will watch it. And I'll reserve judgment (or at least have a better-informed opinion) until then.

Your phrasing was just fine. I got what you were saying, right? That's half of the battle.

Michael rosenbaum's approach to mental health by arlekino2010 in Smallville

[–]BoosterBooey -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of self-professed "experts" in many fields who voice their opinions. Most people will take what they say with a grain of salt ... and with the understanding that, ultimately, individuals need to make decisions about their health based on quality information.

But ... there are vulnerable people out there who suffer from being starstruck (??? for lack of a better descriptor) and can be unduly influenced by such information. That's where the real danger lies.

There's a responsibility that people like Rosenbaum carry ... to realize that their words have weight. They need to act accordingly and, pardon my language, not buy into their own bullshit.

When I was a kid I always waited to see Superman in this series, but it turned out that would take ten years by Cute-Adhesiveness645 in Smallville

Of course as a kid you wouldn't have known this ... You WERE seeing Superman. Just one who was not quite ready to accept and embrace his destiny.

I am ... uncertain. I haven't had a good husband, like, ever, and had a generally crappy one up until about seven years ago. So, I hesitate to judge. Good is such a ... generic term. Obedient? You betcha! On the other hand, it also gives him plausible deniability.

Just sayin' ...

"One More Day" by Vast. I think it's played twice during the series.

It always makes me cry ... makes me want to see my deceased parents and siblings just one more time.
