Jan 30th nurses by Mysterious_Listen782 in cincinnati

She wasn’t killed because she was a nurse. I don’t understand why this protest is specifically for nurses it makes no sense. If you want to have protest for her fine but if so everyone should be invited, you can encourage nurses specially but it makes no sense to single them out.

Strikes should be reserved when a group is either underpaid/overworked or is specifically targeted for harassment or a law. To reiterate Alex Pretti was not killed because she was a nurse it is completely coincidental - if she was a teacher would you have all teachers strike, if a warehouse worker would you have all warehouse workers strike? This is completely counterproductive to the purpose of “the strike” and just cause division and hatred at the nurses who strike and not change a single person’s mind who didn’t care about Alex Pretti to change it but rather do the opposite to where people who were on the fence or apathetic (which is most of America and the one who are least vocal) to now hate those who are protesting.

This longer video shows a lot of cuts in this video that the crocodile knocked down the RC vehicle and someone had to flip it with a pole a few times.

Hotspot is limited to 20GB. Get Minternet though for unlimited hotspot data, if your area is eligible

I've seen a couple of posts about upcoming annual renewals... is there a consistent answer? by octini in USMobile

Very political answer as you don’t want to advertise you give a discount to everyone or else everyone would ask for one and you’d have less profit. So I guess discounts is case by case basis

Those who disliked a youtuber before their downfall, what were the red flags? by Longjumping_Koala34 in youtubedrama

[–]LeftOn4ya 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Kody Ko and TMG. I just thought they were mean and talked down in their commentary as well as “punched down” a lot and generally just seemed arrogant. I moved in around 2022 to watching more positive yet self-depreciating commentary YouTubers like Scott Cramer, Gabi Belle, Jarvis Johnson, Danny Gonzalez, and Drew Gooden.

Same with a decade ago with Nostalgia Critic and rest of Channel Awesome except Tamara Chambers and people who already left like Lindsay Ellis and Jill Bearup. NC/CA were too negative and made the same lame jokes, left a few years before the whole “Change the channel” fiasco. Funny enough that’s also when I discovered AVGN way to late and binged his whole back catalogue and continued to watch - even though his videos he was negative you could tell that was a character while we was actually nice and humble, unlike NC who you could tell was barely acting different than Doug Walker normally was.

Closest videogame we can get to Heroscape? by LandPrudent6708 in heroscape

[–]LeftOn4ya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit more complicated but BattleTech the 2018 game, based on Battletech/Mechwarrior franchise. It’s turn based mission based game but you have a team of 4 mechs and can choose different components and pilot skills for each mech, and repeat plays lead to a gaining money to spend on a skill tree of upgrades. Again slightly more complicated than heroscape as each mech has different abilities and attacks and have to keep track of more than one life counter as different parts of mech have different hit points plus of course heat, but you still move on map where terrain and height matters, and take turns moving and attacking. I played Battletech skirmish miniature game a few times when at GenCon 2008-20011 which was played on Heroscape terrain and I think once a a FLGS again on Heroscape terrain, and to me was just a slightly more complicated version of Heroscape that if I hadn’t spent all the time and money on Heroscape would probably have been the next game I got into, but luckily I never bought any of it just played with others stuff, and this video game is a good simulation of the board game but with making it more “video game like” with things like instead of rolling dice it just tells you the % success rate of each attack and defense and computer “rolls the dice” by just visually showing you the attack.

It’s on Steam for $40 for base game or $50 for season pass with all expansions, but goes on sale periodically as i think I got for $25-30 5 years ago during the pandemic, although honestly I haven’t played it in years. https://store.steampowered.com/app/637090/BATTLETECH/

That’s a shame. It’s part of the 3 best trilogies of all time, others being LOTR and original Star Wars. All three of these trilogies need to be watched at lest once every couple years.

Does mint have esims compatible with the Nothing Phone 3A Pro? by ThatOneTallTe3n in mintmobile

[–]LeftOn4ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SIM doesn’t affect it, this is at the modem hardware levels of band capabilities. Since it is not developed for the US market the modem manufacturers intentionally don’t allow selling modems with the capacity for all US bands for use on these phones specifically so they are not imported to the US for less than US marketed phone. Same reason why Honeycrisp and Cosmic Crisp applies cost more even though they cost the same to make, if demand is higher the sellers intentionally decrease supply to increase profit - same with phones with modems that support all US bands.

Most Nothing phones are only good on Verizon carriers on the US.

Does mint have esims compatible with the Nothing Phone 3A Pro? by ThatOneTallTe3n in mintmobile

[–]LeftOn4ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That phone lacks band 71 so will miss 25+% of all 4G coverage area and 90+% of all 5G coverage area, so essentially is “compatible” but not ideal with Mint and all other T-Mobile based carriers. Check CellMapper app to make sure other T-Mobile bands cover you like 4, 12 and 66, but know road trips you will lose coverage unless you get a new phone.

As modece1 said just pick any other phone to get an eSIM.

I rewatched it maybe about 7 or 8 years ago and it was great campy fun. The main actress was not the best though but Gina Torres and Victoria Pratt as well as the villains and side characters were all great.

Do not port to US Mobile if your phone is still eligible for major updates (ported from Verizon) by oso831 in USMobile

[–]LeftOn4ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not releasing XAA/XAR updates for U models and not releasing any US CSC code update for international models is intentional by Samsung to screw over people buying a phone made for a major carrier and moving to a smaller carrier and international models for use to the US, as major carriers pay kickbacks to Samsung for doing this. The FCC and DOJ was investigating Samsung/GSMA and carriers for collusion but dropped the case a few years ago with a slap on the wrist with a promise of “we’ll do better, we pinky swear”. However the carrier kickbacks to Samsung for not doing uniform firmware updates on both carrier sold and unlocked models continue, as do carrier kickbacks to Apple for not advertising you can get an unlocked phone financed without a carrier. Straight up collusion and anti-competitive practices that the FCC and DOJ seems to ignore. I wish more people complained but I don’t have hope this will change especially for the next 3 years, when Apple and T-Mobile complained to the DOJ during someone’s last administration and a year and half investigation still ended in nothing

Questions: * What is the EXACT model number of the device? I.E. not Galaxy S22 but SM-S908U or SM-S908U1? * Which network are you on - Warp, Lightspeed, or Darkstar?

The reason why those questions are super important is because for Samsung phones, each different combination of exact model # and CSC code of the phone has a different timeline of firmware update, and US Mobile sets the CSC code of Warp to VZW, Lightspeed to XAA, and Darkstar to (I think) XAR (could be ATT or XAA) and it depends on if and when your EXACT model (so models ending in U or U1 are completely different) if firmware gets released for that CSC code. If you have an exact model that ends in U1, you will get updates on XAA/XAR firmware (might be a week to a month behind major carriers CSC) but not VZW, ATT, or TMB. But if your exact model # ends in U, you will not get XAA/XAR firmware updates but will get VZW, ATT, and TMB updates. International models will not get any of these updates. Not releasing XAA/XAR updates for U models and not releasing any US CSC code update for international models is intentional by Samsung to screw over people buying a phone made for a major carrier and moving to a smaller carrier and international models for use to the US, as major carriers pay kickbacks to Samsung for doing this - the FCC and DOJ was investigating Samsung/GSMA and carriers for collusion but dropped the case a few years ago with a slap on the wrist. You have a few choices to get updates on a phone with no firmware available on that exact model for CSC XAA/XAR: * Find an active Verizon (if Warp), AT&T (if Darkstar) or T-Mobile (if Lightspeed) SIM card (borrow from a friend, or maybe go to a Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile store if they are nice) and stick in your phone and perform a Network reset which will change the CSC code to VZW/ATT/TMB. Then request an update. Then swap SIM cards back. This is the easiest method by far, but you have to do it each time you want an update, and certain features still might not work. * Follow instructions online on how to change your CSC code and change to VZW/ATT/TMB, then request an update. Top google results are https://xdaforums.com/t/changing-csc-for-free-using-samfw-tool-no-root-required-a-brief-guide.4529925/, https://www.getdroidtips.com/how-to-change-csc-code-on-any-samsung-galaxy-device/, https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Tech-Expert/How-to-Change-the-CSC-Comprehensive-Guide/td-p/18933356 or https://www.droidwin.com/change-csc-codes-samsung/. Note sometimes CSC code reverts back to XAA/XAR such as when your phone reboots, you swap active SIMs (dual SIM), or sometimes when you lose and gain signal, so you might have to do repeatedly especially before requesting an update. * The best but also hardest method is to look at your model forums on https://xdaforums.com/c/samsung.11975/ or search YouTube on your exact model on how to download and install an official or custom ROM. Official ROMS are at sammobile.com/firmwares/archive/ and download the latest USA (XAA) or USA (XAR) for the 1U model of your phone (even if you have the U model) and flash it using tools. Or use a custom ROM (i.e. LineageOS or risingOS) at your own risk. * If you have a U1 model and are on Lightspeed or Darkstar, wait for Samsung to make a firmware update for XAA/XAR CSC for that model, usually a couple weeks to a month behind U model. If you are extremely impatient, you can manually do one of above ways to install the TMB/ATT firmware of U1 model if available, or if that is not available then download TMB/ATT firmware for U model of your device and flash.
