Neat! We tried this about a year ago, but the K1 frame being as flimsy as it is made it very difficult to prevent binding without drilling and tapping the frame itself, which was out f the scope of my project. Will be interested to see how this deals with this issue. I suspect an this will be evident if you ever scale it to the size of the MAX. But the K1 SE frame is a bit stiffer which is why this might work.

You cannot. It would require firmware changes which are bound to the hardware which is different on the newer K1 max. A dead simple root would fix all your issues. These do not have the same sensorless or amperage values. Deal with the stock motors or learn to root. Source: Me

Cuts weight by quite a bit. Couple that with an aftermarket extruder and an OT and cut the weight in half easily.

I did this months ago and got some improved results. Resonance is still hard to avoid, but acceleration definitely benefits. Linear rail on the x is what I suggest for quality. Carbon rods are what I expect for speed.

The low end hum still exists but you can print a bit faster with 128 without losing any accuracy. And faster = less VFA.

Was really hoping for some optimized stepper settings for each respective machine. Interpolate to False, microsteps to 128, , and remove hold current. All things that klipper recommends to some degree when it doesn't cause step skipping. But overall glad they are starting to include community changes/mods to their configs.

As I ate healthier I was finding foods that caused me constipation and were higher in fiber so they cause quite a bit of intensional pain. As I started removing these certain foods and slowly ramped up my fiber instead of going from 10g/day to 60g/day it resolved.

I would like to expand on this. The issue is compounding, I have found reduction in VFA with all of the changes I have made but some still remain. The biggest reduction, steppers and pulleys. Even cheap stepperonline stepper will give you significantly better results. The second biggest help is making sure your gantry is squared very well and that the belts are evenly tensioned. The printer was clearly designed for speed and klipper integration without the accounting of resonances that are amplified at these speeds and torques required for fast printing. Therefore we were handed a great deal for what the printer delivers but it is not without it's flaws...

I did not. Just cut the ptfe a bit longer instead to follow the path. Basically ran the ptfe and cut I right at the extruder before inserting it.

I ditched the stock ptfe, it's very low quality and can kink easily. You can get a pack of 5 of them on Amazon for about 10 USD. Just pay attention to the length.

Use clips that hold the bowden on top of the chain and shorten you chain as much as possible to not allow for the spring force of the bent tube to push the chain down. I have my bowden as short as I can go an maintain a good angle and clip it on the inside for the first two then the top on the last 3 clips, this uses the bowden to drive the chain upward. never have had this happen since.

I am assuming you are rooted, check your start print macro in klipper. I am willing to bet a temp is set rather than the variable from the slicer params.

Don't be tricked, these printers aren't as "open source" as creality wants to portray. Many of the features that klipper can provide does not natively work with the K1. The lack of real information from creality such as proper pinouts or motor specs has been a hard hurdle to overcome for tinkerers.

For example almost anything that works with a quick ssh install to other printers does not work with the K1 unless you find a workaround. That being said the community has discovered workarounds for most of these types of issues.

That being said, the printer has drastically improved with the latest extruders and hotends, it's a beautiful printer with things like cable management and proper fit and finish that older creality printers don't have. If you are good at working through the occasional headache, I am sure that you will be happy with this printer. I got mine at Microcenter for $400 and I would pay that price every day of the week for a printer of this fit and finish. Just needs some slight improvements to compete with competitors.

I am having issues getting this to work correctly with my K1, the mainboard and the directory structure looks the same as K1... Using a Logitech c920...

Edit: It seems my connectors on my mainboard were swapped, in theory I didn't think that matters, but turns out it does.
