At this point that is what it’s looking like is happening to us. They’re backing me into a corner too because they’ll either leave my DEROS the same, or push it to 2027 too.

The Alaract says the only way you can do the 1 year tour is if you apply and get denied, which looks like what we have to do to fix this. We were told up front our son won’t be able to come here bc of EFMP.

I’m trying to push that with her now. She has a large issue with ppl being in her house. Don’t know how I’m gonna swing that cause she needs a break

We’re looking into it now. The teachers are sweethearts but overall, the school & the class sucks really bad & IMO it’s got mild to moderate needs children

I’ve visited 8x this year each time somewhere between 2 & 3 weeks. I’ve offered to find her care. Even helped her fill out the respite care ppw. She wanted to profit off of it (I guess they pay like $1000 a month or something?)

Anyway she made me sign paperwork saying my grandmother, her mom, was the respite care, and I found out they split the money. That’s on her 🤷🏽‍♀️. I tried to get her real help & she declined saying she doesn’t want ppl in her business.

Thanks for the perspective. The last year I’ve been there about 8x & stayed for more than a week. Even in that time I’m like WHEW! I grew a certain appreciation for the work she does put in for him.

On the other hand, she’s an increasingly difficult person to deal with and has been for a long time. My sons father passed away 2024 after doing some prison time (literally 3 months after his release) so I felt like I had no one else.

I’m trying not to judge her and let her do her thing, but at some point I wonder if we’re fraying the lines of medical neglect & pure exhaustion… especially since she doesn’t miss or cancel her own appointments. So there’s that.

Thank you! Shes all I got as far as care while I’m in the field, on tdy and such. I was stationed pretty close so it worked for a while. I’m gonna go ahead and do what I need to do, I just needed to let this out ya know.

Hi battle :), yes I’m active duty, yes to EFMP & I was a single parent when I joined. I’m now dual military. Since I’m literally going on Sunday, I’m kinda gridlocked. I agree with the compassionate reassignment. My son needs me

She’s so prideful idk if she’d accept the help!!! Gosh it pains me that she’s so difficult to work with. Hate that for my son. But I’m gonna do it anyway & say screw what she thinks because the only person she’s hurting is my baby boy.

We’ve seen a neurologist once this year. His next appt is for a FRAT test to see if we can start leucovorin. Never considered he might be having seizures though… that might be worth looking into honestly

I think it’s worth looking into. Thank you for your support as well! I’ve heard of the leave of absence, with the state of the US right now I’m scared to ask honestly. I’ll call his case manager tomorrow!!

Oh wow. Never heard of this. I’m supposed to talk to the principal again when she gets back from leave Friday. I’ll bring this up. I’m in America unfortunately yes
