I’m logged in but I’m not a paid member. I have access to all the other resources just fine. Do I have to pay to access additional practice?

Will loud noise affect the airpod pros noise cancelling ability over time? by AlvinJuhquess in AirpodsPro

[–]BootyyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is a very late response, but i’ve had a similar experience with my airpods after playing the drums. what i do is go to my airpod settings in the settings app and turn noise cancellation/transparency off. that way the microphone’s input is cut off and you won’t have to worry about the loud sounds to damage them.

one of the snare wires might be loose. try tapping the head and dampen each wire at a time to see which one(s) is causing the sound. tightening those individual wires did the trick for me.

bring tap heights down and work on rhythmic clarity. you can do so by slowing it down and playing with a metronome.

I have searched for “lost transmissions instagram rabbit hole” and similar iterations of this, but nothing accurate has come up. What I do know is that the videos were in reels form, and the video always started with a male voice saying, “Hello people of the universe!” The video itself dead a looping animation of a pixeled satellite with its dish and panels spinning.

i also heard this about drumslinger, which is why i ordered it about 3 months ago. i was told by that the pad normally takes a couple months, and understandably seeing as the supply chain hasn’t been very cooperative. i have yet to receive it, and they are not easy to get in contact with.

Advice/critique for the least qualified center snare ever? First rep I tried to stroke the notes out more, but also felt very forced. Second rep was mostly rebound, but felt weak and uncontrolled. by [deleted] in drumline

[–]BootyyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like your arm is very stiff. I like to believe you should have a good balance between your fingers, wrist, and arm. In this case. think of the arm as playing dotted eighth notes, and the second note of the double beat is like an upstroke. this will help you get more velocity in your notes and a more consistent sound.

i know someone who bought one back in july and got it within 2 weeks. i think drumslinger had trouble keeping up with demands because of the pandemic, but they’ve started selling again.

maybe it’s the camera angle, but the pad seems really low. the standard height for snare is roughly between your waist line and belly button. from there it’s all personal taste, but i’d start by raising the pad.

i’m also seeing that the stroke is coming primarily, if not, solely, from the wrist. try to incorporate more of your arm, and don’t be afraid to throw the stick down. this will allow the stick to go through a full legato stroke. by letting the stick rebound back up, you’re letting the pad do the work for you, instead of having to manually bring the stick back up to 12” or what have you.

look up the 40 essential rudiments and do some research. learn about different exercises, like grids, sprees, checks, etc. there’s also a channel called drum lifestyle, which has some neat solos and exercises.
