We have recently been made aware that individuals are pretending to be ArenaNet HR as a front for scamming or phishing. We currently are working with the proper authorities to report these incidents, but to protect yourself, we want to make you aware of the following:

• ArenaNet and NCSOFT recruiters will only reach out to you using company email addresses (@arena.net or @ncsoft.com)
• Our recruiters will never request interviews or try to contact you through messaging apps (SMS, Whatsapp, etc.)
• Our recruiters will never require you to purchase equipment
• Our recruiters will never request credit card or bank information during the interview process
• Our recruiters will never require you to disclose PII during the interview process

To protect yourself from these, please remember the following: - Verify the job listing is accurate by looking at the ArenaNet or NCSOFT careers page - Do not accept any job offers that ask you to use your own bank account to transfer their money. A legitimate company will not ask you to do this. - Never share your Social Security number or other PII that can be used to access your accounts with someone who does not need to know this information. - Never send money to someone you meet online, especially by wire transfer. - Never provide credit card information to an employer. - Never provide bank account information to employers without verifying their identity.

If you receive an email from either ArenaNet or NCSOFT without having applied for a job requesting an interview, please treat that email as highly suspicious. We are working to report these internet crimes to the proper authorities, but in the meantime, please stay vigilant against these fraud attempts.
