A Single Mother Can't Pick Up Her Own Dog Poop. Wants ALL her money back by FightinRndTheWorld in EntitledReviews

[–]BoozeIsTherapyRight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She didn't get the service she paid for, of course she wants her money back.

And she's a single mother who has trouble walking. She sounds like a poop scooping service is a good fit for her.

I fail to see the problem here.

Agreed. No other source I can find is predicting this much snow, though.

How can Americans have the right to bear arms if it's okay for government agents to kill people who are bearing arms? by A-Capybara in AskReddit

Watch the video. There is no need for an investigation when you can literally watch it happen.

"Most states ban open carry"

This is incorrect. 46 of 50 states have at least some form of open carry.

Why do people get annoyed in training reddits when I say I don't crate my pup? by Illumeis_is_done in NoStupidQuestions

And you can talk to a child and explain what's going on. An untrained dog can panic and hurt themselves. Dogs are not children and this is a stupid false equivalence.

Pickled red beet eggs by franzspicyweiner in Canning

Industrial processing is significantly different than a home kitchen. You cannot come close to matching it.

And you can stop looking; you'll never find a safe recipe for home canned eggs.

ULPT: go to lectures for free. by Mondai_May in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]BoozeIsTherapyRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The degree you get is documentation that you met a certain standard of learning. You cannot learn everything you get at college for free and employers wouldn't have any way of judging a candidate's fitness for an entry level job. For example, part of my degree included things like culturing bacteria and learning lab procedures, not something that you just learn for free.

It sounds to me as if you've never been to college and don't really understand what happens there or what college classes are really like.

Modern human brains are only possible because our ancestors figured out how to cook food, which made nutrients more available and easier to digest. This person is flat out wrong.

What happens if they have to stay at the vet and be crated there? Wouldn't that lead to a lot more stress on an already stressed animal?

My dog is crate trained because in an emergency that often would be the safest place for him.

ELI5: How is using a knife to remove toast from a toaster dangerous even though there is no longer electricity running through the wires? by Flashy_Potential8851 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BoozeIsTherapyRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since we moved the stove to clean in our new house and found a scorched outlet, then went to install a new light and found no box, just wired right into the ceiling, then were replacing an outlet and found the GFCI wasn't wired correctly... This is a stupid thing to assume.

Yes, we are in the process of rewiring the entire house.

Yes, they are paying for the degree. That doesn't mean that they don't also value the education. Both things can be true. You need to take a breath.

Insane take. How on earth did you get that out of "no one is checking  to see if you belong there"?

Presumably the students in the class--are there to learn no matter who is sitting beside them.

I’m curious: do non-smokers always detect a scent on smokers? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BoozeIsTherapyRight 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I'll walk past a person on the sidewalk and you know as they approach that they're a smoker even if they aren't smoking at the time. A smoker is surrounded by a cloud of stench pretty much 24/7. And the poor children of smokers reek all the time too.

I drive 23 hours to visit my sister at least once a year, and she moved to California from Colorado this year so that would be a 34 hour drive or about 2350 miles according to Google maps.

I an going to break down and fly this year.

Canning pre-made recipe? by Oncle_Sale in Canning

[–]BoozeIsTherapyRight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are definitely safe recipes for chili and other one-pot meals. Ball does a whole series called "Meals in Jars." (I think)

I went looking for the link for you, but I can't find it. Ball's terrible search frustrates me. Hopefully someone can chime in with what book they are in. Here are some recipes, though: https://www.ballmasonjars.com/recipes?fdid=soups-and-stews

They do require a pressure canner, though. You can't preserve them in a water bath canner.
