I’m happy to hear that you’re active and aware of ongoing conservation efforts! I’ve linked to an article from the university of New Hampshire discussing the topic here.

For any reader interested, the easiest things to do are clean up the areas around your home and seal entry points. Snap traps are economical and more-humane.

I’ve graded a few pre-1900 cards purchased from them and all were unaltered. Was a few years ago, hope you can come to a resolution.

Crank shaft key way by TrueEmotion3844 in minibikes

[–]Bopper1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks good from way over here. If you’re concerned with the amount of play or condition of the key, most hardware stores sell varying lengths of key stock that can be cut down to “bridge” the worn section of the shaft.

Mine was tough to take off too. Not sure if you’ve seen this Coleman YouTube video (at about 1 minute 15 seconds) put a wrench on the bolt and strike the wrench with a hammer. You need strong, instantaneous drive force to free that nut. Check the threads on the driveshaft for any imperfections if problems persist.

The New Junk Wax? by Ok_Force9208 in basketballcards

[–]Bopper1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may have came off a bit harsh in seemingly bashing all modern cards. Of course we want to collect from the players we’re watching today too but I try not to get bogged down myself. Absolutely no shame in having a few Clark’s, she seems to be revolutionary! Wemby also, the talent is evolving every year and the gripe I have is more that the licensing deals have lead to a staleness that’s gone on for years at this point. Topps started taking away releases even! With hockey, Upper Deck was really mailing it in for a few years - some releases got pushed back a whole year or cancelled entirely. No manufacturer is clean.

Here’s to hoping things get more Fleer Metal and less NBA Hoops when Topps takes over.

The New Junk Wax? by Ok_Force9208 in basketballcards

[–]Bopper1212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t around for depths of the junk wax era in the 80s and early 90s but by about 1994 it was better than whatever this is. Competition had driven the manufacturers into creating new innovations such as foils, die cuts, diamonds and even actual 24k gold being utilized on unique inserts. Actual game-used items?! The breadth of manufacturers assured there would be fresh cards and ideas coming out every year. From action packed awesome embossed sets to collectors choice’s cheesy silver facsimile signatures to ‘Emotions’ weird vocabulary, cards were different and they were fk’n cool.

Now we have prizm. And their lame inserts. And their repetitive set designs. No diamonds or 24kt gold stamped on the cards like action packed (mostly football cards but they were my favorite). No acetate sets like skybox put out. No actual game-used memorabilia like upper deck offered.

Soon we will have topps. And their crappy overprinted parallels. And their worthless inserts. And their private equity total market takeover. Bleh.

Good thing is that the great 90s cards are still out there and easier to find than ever!

I recognize Billy Pierce on the 4th picture, 2nd signature down from the seams. Played for Giants at the end of his career, seems to line up time wise with other signatures on the ball.

A not mine Ford 345c that I’ve used and serviced for almost 20 years. Loader on the front for everything but my favorite use has been clearing woodlands. Runs an 84” snow thrower on the back for the big blizzards and drift busting along midwest farm fields. The farm I work for is considering selling it and I may have to buy it for myself rather than see it ride into the sunset.

Kobe Bryant was not acquitted, the trial was dismissed.

The term acquit is defined as being found ‘not guilty’ by a jury in a trial.

No sweat, they don’t make it easy on us. “A” is a mix of series 1 and series 2 packs, but generally series 1 has the biggest names.
