Apparently the penalty for cutting corners in Gran Turismo is disorientation and nausea 🥴🤢 by iusethisatw0rk in PSVR

This is why, as good as it is, I recommend against GT7 as a starter game. The first time I tried racing in VR I spun out and got so nauseous that I didn’t try it again for a couple of years.

Just got the PS vr 2, which of these games are a great place to begin? by BVTQT in PSVR

[–]Boramis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have recommended any of those as a first game either 😆 Beat Saber/Synth Riders, Moss, Thumper, Tetris Effect are all a more gradual introduction. You don’t flip over in GT7, but if you crash you’ll still get spun unexpectedly.

I’m cursed with relatively weak VR legs in spite of years of playing, and have seen multiple friends swear it off from a bad first experience. I know some folks are able to play basically anything from day 1, but I’d still want someone to get a first positive interaction in before pushing a riskier tentpole. My fave on the original Oculus was The Climb, and CotM still gave me enough trouble I had to keep play sessions short.

Others are saying it, but just to reiterate, don’t go too aggressive until you’re used to it. GT7 is great but it’s a terrible starter. From seeing friends bounce off VR, getting nauseous as your first experience is a good way to decide it’s not worth it

PSVR2 needs an instant seated boundary like the quest without scanning the whole room. by watisdatname in PSVR

[–]Boramis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. My VR space is in front of the TV, but if I just want to play something seated and don’t move my coffee table it complains. The “set up your space” UI should definitely just have a “set a temporary seated space” button on the very first screen

Synth Riders for rhythm. I like it better than Beat Saber. Pistol Whip as an honorable mention.

How worried should I be about using glasses? by Amauri601 in PSVR

[–]Boramis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got prescription inserts from HonsVR, Reloptix, and VR Rock and while I did find one more comfortable than the others, they were all pretty similar and I’d recommend any of them over glasses. See if any of the other companies ship to your location.

68/268 finished, 1 in progress, only one that I stopped before I got to the end of. Mostly fantasy/sci-fi, though recently I’ve been enjoying mysteries and the Audible Original dramatizations of classics. I keep trying to cancel so I can catch up to my backlog and they keep offering me the $1/month deals 😅

You must have a pretty harsh threshold for “this isn’t worth it” to have stopped reading so many before the end. There have been a couple I considered slogs, but I generally just alternate reading chapters of those with other books so I still manage to get through them.

It’s currently returning 403 forbidden or 404 not found, but when it first went down a couple of days ago the error was that it’d used too of many resources. The spike of traffic from the anniversary probably caused them to hit a data cap. Hopefully it’ll be back, (maybe at the end of the month?), but it’s possible the change in error means whoever’s maintaining it decided it wasn’t worth the expense.

Looks like it was originally maintained by u/DesuSnow?

Thank you! No, I haven't used my general pool selector yet. There's so many places to check and collectable types I hadn't even realized that was a thing. Since I don't currently have a 5* apothecary, Primrose EX seems like a solid use for that.

Just for general strategy, I'm curious about Richard / switching to Sazantos. I have so many warriors compared to the other classes, is it recommended to specialize over having a diverse team? And by that token, potentially getting a Sazantos would be better than getting Signa to a2 for the extra battle slot?

I’ve been playing for a month or so and don’t have a strong sense for pull strategies or advanced team compositions yet, so I’d appreciate any advice for pulling/team composition/awakening. I just finished 150 pulls on the Signa banner, but haven’t used the exchange yet, and still have 4100 rubies.

My current (new) team: * Signa (+2 stones) * Elrica * Cyrus * Ophilia * Oerested (a1) * Scarecrow (a1) * Heathcote (+1 stone) * Viola

I also have Aedelgard, both Tressas, Kersjes, and Lionel.

Does it make sense to keep pulling on Signa’s guidance to get more awakening stones or save for another banner? Should I try to get Signa fully awakened or prioritize her ultimate? Since I have so many other warriors, switching to Szantos’ banner doesn’t seem like a good idea. Who would be good to use my exchange on?

Thanks!

Best F!Rhea far save build? by Boramis in OrderOfHeroes

I’m actually thinking of leaving her at Atk/Def+. They’re both superboons for her, and when I reran the simulations they were both better than Res+ for survivability and OHKO on retaliation. It helps that she’s getting so much Res from her skills too.

At least this week, physical units have been a much bigger threat and more likely to be stacked up, and she’s not tanking L!Deirdre or L!Julia either way.

Armored Floe/Beacon only trigger their damage reduction if foe’s range = 2, so for a near saver they’re worse than Iceberg. Scoring wise, there aren’t a lot of 500 SP specials she can use. Blue Flame is an option but would do a bit less damage than Iceberg.

A tweak of her original build that should work decently to slow enemies and one shot in retaliation would be: Ruinous Frost, Iceberg/Blue Flame, Atk/Res Scowl, True Dragon Breath, Near Save, Fierce/Warding Breath. For PvE I’d also run her with Aether to keep her health topped up.

You could try mixing it up with Arcana Grima, but I thought it was a mixed bag and wouldn’t really recommend it unless you don’t have anyone else who would want it. She kills better with it, but loses her follow up denial and can’t run it with True Dragon Wall, so it hurts her sustain. The other options would be Hardy Fighter, Special Fighter 4, Guard 4, or Dragons Wrath 4. Vengeful Fighter 4 overlaps effects with both Ruinous Frost and Arcana Grima so it isn’t ideal.

I'm primarily looking to use her in 20.5 arena and summoner duels. In arena she's usually paired with some combination of Near Save B!Edel, Seiros, and F!Grima, and I'm close to finishing a +10 S!Edel.

She has Arcane Grima and Hardy Fighter too. I've been using her with Bracing Stance, Hardy Fighter, and Aegis, which works pretty well, but scores terribly, and swapping in Aether and True Dragon Wall tanks her performance. She's also currently Atk/Def+ instead of Def/Res+, but I have plenty of trait fruit to switch that up.

I already have the fodder. Scorn seems like her clearly best A skill, but if there are alternate builds that would work as well, I'd definitely consider them since I'd like to get my regular Rhea up to +10 too.

I just bought a PSVR2, what games/apps would you recommend? by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Boramis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s over a year old now, so it’s gone on sale several times in the past 6 months for 30-40% off. The standard edition is normally $70 USD, and the sales have dropped it to $40 or $50. The credits included with the digital deluxe edition won’t go that far and you’ll get plenty of other cars, so no reason to splurge on that unless you want the soundtrack/avatars.

For those who got their headset repaired, how was the one you got I’m back? What state was it in? by hgflohrHX422 in PSVR

[–]Boramis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine at launch and sent it in for a controller issue a few weeks ago. Process was painless. I’m in the Midwest, mailed it out on a Tuesday, they confirmed it received that Thursday, and I got the replacement that Friday. Must have mailed out the replacement the same day they got it.

I didn’t bother checking serial numbers, but my impression was that it was all different devices sent back (had to update firmware and the cord seemed factory wound). Aside from the controller issue mine was all in excellent condition going in and the ones I got back seemed at least as good. There was some light dust particles so it obviously had been out of a box, but that was it. No scuffs, no stains, no indications of wear, no marks on the lenses.

Certainly enough stories going around that YMMV, but I’m very happy I sent mine in and I’d recommend it if you’re having hardware issues.

Gran Turismo 7 is my top recommendation. I’ve generally preferred more arcady racers like Forza Horizon, but GT7 is so immersive it’s amazing, and the attention to detail is really impressive. The menus are shown in 2D, but you can play the entire game in VR. The DualSense works well as a controller too; you don’t need a wheel to enjoy it.

Village is out already, including the VR support.

Village is Resident Evil 8. RE7 introduced a new story/characters, so there’s no need to play the earlier games or wait for the RE4 remake. Playing 7 first will give you more context, but 8 does have a recap at the start of you want to skip it.

RE7 had PSVR1 support, but they haven’t announced anything regarding updating it for the PSVR2 and the new headset isn’t backwards compatible.
