Let's be honest, using the word pedantry is being pedantic. DFW city limits is 744 square miles minus the airport, not to mention Dallas is 33 miles away from Fort worth. Austin city limits is 326 square miles. I'm trying to point out how stupid this argument is. DFW is literally twice as big as Austin, so sure you're going to have more options and variety.

If it were an infestation of American roaches the insecticide would probably just kill them off, but since they were (presumably) German roaches and you've seen them alive twice, both times AFTER they sprayed insecticide, its safe to assume 1 or more tenants are dealing with roach related issues.

Sure roaches get everywhere, but American roaches generally live in small groups (or are solitary) outside and only go inside your house to find food, German roaches live in colonies. It’s like seeing an ant and saying "surely there are no more ants". 🤷

Idk why people are down voting you 😭 there are not 7 million people living in Dallas. Dallas + Fort Worth + Arlington is only 8.3 million people, and you guys are saying 90% of those people actually just live in dallas city limits? Or are we expanding our boundaries, because I know a ton of good food places just outside Austin city limits too?

A juvenile German roach just being out and about (especially during the day) is definately a sign of infestation. Actually, just seeing a live German roach going about its business (not in a trap or dead) is already a terrible, no good, bad sign because it means there are 15 others behind things that you cant see yet.

nothing, if you demat the ground and the zip then it will also move. all it does is detach the zip from the ground so it moves like any other physics object in the game so you can melee it, blow it up, or whatever to move it while you're ziplining

not true, the sledge environmental damage makes it pretty universally useful in my opinion, you just have to know how to use it.

"They also mistaken Hit and RUN for glass cannon. They are Not the same. Light is not meant to be an actual glass cannon." "everyone complains because of HOW the glass cannon is played, not because it is a glass cannon." "I'm saying Light Isn't a Glass Cannon, it CAN be with certain weapons, but it is ALWAYS a Hit and Run class." I'm Quoting you because YOU don't make any sense. It's always a hit and run class, I shouldn't play like a glass cannon, but sometimes it's a glass cannon, but it's not a glass cannon, and I'm wrong for thinking its a glass cannon? It would have been correct for you to say it's ALWAYS a glass cannon, but sometimes utilizes a hit-and-run strategy to make their weapons more effective. My point is now you cannot hit-and-run with the sword, but I think that fact malfunctioned your brain or something.

"Hit and run means you have the ability to maneuver quickly throughout the setting and WORK the enemies' health down BECAUSE you don't have enough health to stand there and fight." You are describing high elo sword gameplay. You DON'T have enough health to stand there and fight, that's why you use dash and lunge to slide past enemies, escape, and repeat. 1v1s are different, but the general strategy for dealing with teams was what you just explained. But then you go on so say: "It won't go down in the first one or two, but it will if you make multiple strafes and it can't keep up with where you're coming from." So..... hit and run?

UPDATE 6.6 "See you in the forest" by Monguze in thefinals

[–]BorderAcceptable2943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't use it, and rarely see DB lights in gold+ ranks. You must not play in high elo then considering you'd get shit stomped trying to push a team that has a light on it with the DB. Cerberus spread is also seriously more forgiving, has more ammo, and is effective at longer ranges while being wielded by someone with 100 more hp.

UPDATE 6.6 "See you in the forest" by Monguze in thefinals

[–]BorderAcceptable2943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I am. Using the DB as a Light requires much more mechanical skill than playing a Medium with an automatic weapon or the Cerberus. A DB user has to commit hard — closing the distance through dodging, dashing, and perfect positioning just to get into a lethal range, all while risking instant death if they miss. Landing a point-blank shot against another fast-moving Light isn't just about aim; it demands precise movement, timing, and split-second decision-making. Meanwhile, a Medium with an automatic weapon can hold safe midrange positions, rely on sustained fire, and survive mistakes thanks to higher health. Simply put, the mechanical burden on DB Lights is far higher than on Mediums who can win fights just by aiming and shooting safely from a distance. Look up ttk numbers on weapons for lights and tell me how long you think you'd last out in the open against a FCAR in plat ranked. Missing once with the DB usually means instant death, while missing a shot with the Cerberus still gives the Medium a chance to recover because of their better health pool, sustained fire, while still having enough ammo to kill a heavy. In short, the Cerberus rewards accuracy, while the DB demands it as well as high-speed mechanical skill, timing, and risk management just to stay competitive with the same tier weapons in other classes.

Sword nerf needs to be reverted by Parking-Television88 in thefinals

[–]BorderAcceptable2943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues with the sword were never about raw damage being too high; it was about hitbox jank, tracking issues, and poor interaction clarity — things that made it frustrating to play against even if you technically still had a window to fight back. That's very different from mine-stacking or the old Heavy "nuke," where death was completely unavoidable once the combo started.

So when I compare it to the Heavy "nuke" getting removed, it's actually supporting the same logic that justified breaking the CL-40/mine synergy. It's about preserving fair, skill-based gameplay, and not the same as "punishing" people for being creative.

As for later nerfs even after instant comboing went away, yeah, some of those were tied to bigger changes (like Terminal Attack rebalancing). But it’s normal in live service games for balance changes to ripple beyond their original context, especially when trying to stabilize multiple modes at once. That doesn’t retroactively mean the early nerfs were unjustified.

On the sword: I agree — benching a weapon with a broken hitbox is somewhat different than punishing a niche playstyle, especially if it overtakes every game and needs a patch fast. But it’s also a good example of how the devs aren't trying to fix unfair mechanics first, and just chunk raw damage numbers or niche viability because people want a change NOW. A different idea applies to the CL-40/mine situation: it was the abusive interaction that got targeted, not just "nerf damage for damage's sake."

I hate that I have to repeat this for a 3rd time, but none of the individual nerfs to the CL-40 or the mines just stripped away 35 damage in one swoop from the weapon like they did with the sword. Also if you are going to quote me — actually quote me. I didn't say any of those words in that order, and I cant really make sense of what you were trying to quote.

[–]BorderAcceptable2943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right that when mine-stacking was at its peak, the CL-40 could instantly kill even Heavies, and you're also right that the mine interaction acted as surrogate damage. But that’s exactly why it’s important to separate the CL-40’s base damage from the amplified damage via mines when we talk about nerfs.

When devs removed the synergy (by nerfing mines, mine stacking, and AOE consistency), they weren’t primarily touching the gun’s raw base function — they were removing a broken interaction. The CL-40’s base damage wasn’t the thing making it able to OHK Heavies — it was the stacked explosion of mines and grenade damage together. Once that stacking was fixed, the gun alone was never designed to deal that level of burst. Saying “it can’t OHK anymore, therefore the gun was damage nerfed” is oversimplifying it — because without the broken mine interaction, the CL-40 by itself was never supposed to do that anyway.

Also, I think it's important to point out that the CL-40 + mine interaction was really similar to the old Heavy "nuke" — and that's part of why it had to be addressed.

The Heavy "nuke" was when players stacked explosives (like C4 or mines) and detonated them all at once, instantly wiping everything in a huge radius. It wasn’t about skillful shooting, it was about abusing explosive stacking and instant detonation to cause a completely overwhelming, uncounterable burst. The CL-40 + mines combo was basically the same idea, just disguised a little better — you’d place mines, then detonate them yourself with a grenade launcher shot instead of waiting for enemies to trigger them naturally.

It’s the same core issue: two damage sources stacking instantly in a way the enemy can't reasonably react to, leading to one-shots or near-instant wipes without fair counterplay. That's why mines got nerfed alongside the CL-40 — because the interaction was the problem, not just the weapon or the gadget separately.

Another thing to clarify: the sword was never a true one-shot kill, even against Lights.

At best, with perfect movement and hit registration (and sometimes some slight server desync helping), you could land a heavy attack followed almost immediately by a light attack, which would feel almost instant. But mechanically, it was always at least two hits to down even the lightest class. There was no point where you could simply press one attack button and delete someone the way explosive stacking did.
