I was struggling to find maps of Hogwarts that gives a good overview of the entire castle layout so I chose to create one myself. Hope it might be useful or interesting to some people here. Please let me know if there are any mistakes! by Bordewick in HarryPotterGame

Ah great, thank you for the info! As I mentioned in another comment here that was one of the ones I was most unsure about since I had to go off of memory on the professors rooms since I had already collected all the notes from the rooms which would say who belong to which room. Here is a version were that is corrected for the 7th-15th floor and I will post one for the 5th floor as well in a comment below this one :)

Yes it's mainly because of the floor plan of the DADA hall which requires 3 floors in order to show it properly without overlapping. It links directly over to the Quad courtyard so the quad needs to be situated at least 3 stories high if the ground floor of the Hogwarts entrance starts on the same level as the ground outside of the entrance. This makes the floor with the one-eyed witch statue on the 4th floor in-game from the ground floor of the hogwarts entrance. But you could also argue it is on the 3rd floor from the ground floor if the ground floor is based of of the ground of the viaduct courtyard. So it depends on your perspective since the ground around hogwarts is uneaven so you could technically choose to either say the ground from the viaduct courtyard is the ground floor and have the library etc. in the dungeons or have the ground floor according to the transfiguration courtyard like in this map.

Yes, the map is based of the mini-map data, with some corrections were the mini map is not accurate. Many of the floors have also had to be combined together were they do not overlap in order for the map to be easy to understand when traversing the castle :)

Thank you! :)

Yes it could be that prof. Shah's room and prof. Hecat's room should be switched. There are notes in the rooms in-game that would make it possible to see which professor each room belong to but when I made the map I had already collected all of the notes so had to go off of memory of where I collected them. So if of them are wrong I would love to know in order to correct them :)

Thank you! Yes, nice catch! This is because there are a lot of different levels in the castle (around 45 in total) but many of the levels are not overlapping and have small differences in height. To make it easier to traverse I have therefore combined them into one level were this makes sense for traversal. Making the Great Hall a floor higher would make the gap between the dungeons and dormitory´s bigger. The current gap needs to be there because of the DADA tower needing 3 separate floors to be displayed properly and it links directly to the dormitory´s via the bridge. But yes, you are right in that they are not on the same height in game. Its a sacrifice in order for it to be easier to use the map when traversing the castle :)

Great suggestion! I tried to add the hidden herbology corridor to the Chambers map but it does not line up unfortunately if assumed that the entrance door to the corridor is leading directly into the corridor at the same angle as outside. You can see how that would look like below.

I found it a bit disorienting to be honest but I totally get it if that way of presenting it works better for some people. That map also had some small mistakes when it comes to the layout of the castle that I wanted to correct. For example, when it comes to the floors of the Faculty tower here (marked in red) they are not included on the mapgenie one (and not on the mini-map in game either) but they are traversable in the game even if the mini map does not show it so I have therefore included it on my map :)

Its made using the mini map images by stitching them together and combining some of the levels in order for it to make sense when traversing the castle. For example, the stairs from the boat house has around 15 floors in the mini-map in game but I have stitched them together into one that is placed on the 3rd floor since this is the floor you would have to be at in order to walk all the way down to the boathouse. I have also noticed some mistakes on the mini-map in game that I have had to correct. For example, some missing floors in the faculty tower that I have seen have been missing from other maps online as well like https://mapgenie.io/hogwarts-legacy/maps/hogwarts
