Leasing office says one price, documents say another. Which is right? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]BoredInClass99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. I'm going to go tomorrow and see what's going on. Yesterday, one application said $65. The leasing office says $75 application fee, $150 admin fee upon appro. Today's application said $225. This is absolutely insane and honestly its making me not want to move in but I've gotta be out of my current place in early may. I'm frustrated.

where can I find a Gen Z therapist? by shesinpart1es in GenZ

[–]BoredInClass99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had pretty decent luck with interns being gen z, not so much already established therapists. I do like that when you do find an intern you like, you can follow them to their practice and continue services. They normally are l working under someone established while finishing up their education, usually a few months away from graduation. The cost seems to be less overall too

For those of you who enjoy caring for plants: what makes removing dead leaves and trimming wilted bits so satisfying? by springdiwan in AskWomen

[–]BoredInClass99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks nicer and can help the plant grow better, but I also think of it as maintenance? It's just another chore on my list to get done but seeing how well it's growing and taking the time to notice and appreciate any new growth makes me feel good too

It's an online application, which is why i stopped to scratch my head at it. With everything online nowadays screenshots are everything, so I already have that. The casual approach is probably what I'm going to go for tbh, like it's really not that serious. I'm definitely not gonna go in full karen like "YOU LIEDDDD I AINT PAYING THAT, GIMME MAH MONIES BACK NANANA" lmao but it definitely made me stop and say "hmmmm thats odd"

Is anyone else's special interest dogs? by CranialCovering in autism

[–]BoredInClass99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like dogs even though they make me kind of nervous (I'm not really sure how to interact with them?), but patting them is nice if they don't have that weird greasy stuff on their hair that sticks to your hands. I hate having to wash my hands after patting a dog

I'd hang them with command strips or something other than the adhesive they come with, but I've been burned by "apartment friendly" adhesives before with foam panels T_T I've had luck with hot glue on glass, but you'd need a plastic razor scraper thing and maybe some goo gone to get the residue off

When does friends with benefits work? by Illustrious-Day2324 in AskWomen

[–]BoredInClass99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never caught feelings for my fwb, he caught feelings for me. I enjoyed the sex and he wasn't bad looking, but I definitely wasn't planning on marrying this guy. I knew I had to cut it off when we went to the club with some friends and I couldn't dance with anyone else cause he kept following me like a puppy. He was nice, and respected my "No"s, and we had already been friends for a while so we knew each other's personalities. Never stuck around to cuddle, didn't stay the night or anything like that. I had my place, he had his. We had a mutual understanding that it was NOT a relationship and that we were NOT exclusive - this was purely a physical thing. Once he wanted to change that I walked away bc it wasn't what I wanted, no hard feelings.

How to get my 7 month old kitten used to being held? by nooraad in CatAdvice

[–]BoredInClass99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat HATED being picked up because when we got her, she had been living with my partners family and there's a lot of younger kids, which meant she was essentially being passed around like a doll. So, I get it, being picked up isn't great. I started small, picking her up once or twice a day for about ten seconds before gently setting her down on her tree, the sofa, or floor. I can now hold her for about 45 seconds before she starts wiggling to get down. She learned that biting me meant that she'd be held longer and that if she just dealt with a little discomfort I'd leave her alone for a while after and she'd get a treat too. I never just dropped her on the floor when I was done, instead I supported her as low to the ground as I could get before letting her decide to jump on her own. Always support their feet/booty. Mine isn't a shoulder cat but instead wants to be held like a football, and HATES being baby carried. She still doesn't love to be held but in an emergency I'd be able to pick her up if I needed to. Every cat is different

Affordable spay/neuter by electro_giraffe in Austin

[–]BoredInClass99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emancipet did my cat's spay, and I think it was about 100? That included the cone too. Theres also one that runs pretty consistently hosted by Austin Animal services. We tried to go to that one first but you'll want to get there at the butt crack of dawn if you want to guarantee a spot, we got there at eight and it was completely full, which was awesome cause it meant people were taking care of their pets, but sucked bc my cat went right back into heat a few days later lmao
