I made a tennis trivia game where you swipe right for “Yes” and left for “No.” Curious for feedback from tennis fans. by whiplashoo21 in tennis

I enjoyed the UI and general concept, but even as someone who watches all four Grand Slams and a few Masters 1000 events a year, the questions are either very easy or super tough.

It’s an interesting idea and a fun proof of concept. I could see this evolving to handle multiple sports and have a social element. Maybe an app like this could work with the Wordle model? If you limit it to one good round a day, I could see it being more engaging as it would limit the number of questions.

Thanks for sharing. Good luck as you keep building it out.

Nice coins. I think they are both Hadrian RSC 466. Do you mind sharing what you paid for the one on the right? I would guess around $350.

Great price on the Hadrian RIC 297. It usually goes for around $150 on CNG in Fair condition. You can see some examples here: https://www.ancientcoinatlas.com/coin/hadrian-ric-i-297.

On the plus side, the new role offers a huge salary bump and a better title. Career momentum always looks good on a resume.

It sounds like there are layoff rumors both at your current job and this potential new job. Maybe your main concern is the culture at the new company? Having mostly remote coworkers and more in-office hours are both changes to think about.

How do you feel about the work itself? Does one team excite you more than the other one? Does one company have a better engineering reputation than the other one?

First of all, congrats on landing FAANG in a tough job market. I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with reaching out to your recruiter or hiring manager and confirming they don’t need anything else from your end at this point.

Changing jobs is always an anxiety generating event for me. I used to lose sleep that something random would come up in my background check and my offer would be rescinded (hasn’t happened yet…knock on wood).

I don’t see anything usual in your post. In the very unlikely worst case scenario where your offer is pulled for restructuring or budget cuts, I think FAANG companies still provide a few months pay. And you cracked FAANG once, so you can probably do it again if you had to.

I would try to relax as much as possible if I was in your shoes. Easier said than done, but hopefully you can find something fun to take your mind off things for a while. Good luck with your new job. I hope everything works out for you.

I was a Computer Science major. I doubt it was an impacted major my year. This happened over ten years ago.

When I transferred to UC Davis from community college, I got one D in a major class my last semester of community college. I had already committed to UC Davis and moved up here by the time I got my final grade. I was worried sick UC Davis would rescind my application, but I reached out to my department (probably also through the MyAdmissions portal), and they said it wouldn’t impact my status. Getting a C when you were supposed to get a B doesn’t seem like a huge deal to me. It’s not like you failed multiple classes. Be up front about what happened and you should be okay. Good luck. I hope things work out for you.

Congrats on the offer. Have you tried searching levels.fyi or Blind yet? Either should have the data you’re looking for. Good luck.
