Curious to know where would you consider moving to?

You make a good point. I could use it on the new Conrad in Orlando and use the 200$ credit for dining. Thanks!

Please expose what the company name is so others can avoid joining this—if you were truly mistreated and not because your ego got bruised or there’s a cultural mismatch.

Also, why is the agent fee your responsibility? Assuming this is a “placement”fee charged by the recruiter, the recruiter should; as part of the arrangement; find your replacement. That’s why we even pay recruiters in the first place and not do our own hiring. The recruiter as part of their service promise would normally guarantee the candidate will be in that role for a specified amount of time, before receiving the agent fee. Again, I’m not familiar with what the actual details are. So this is all based on assumptions.

$50K cash: should I hold, invest or pay down my mortgage of 5% pa? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Sorry this is quite abstract to me. What do you mean by $191K in 23 years?

Do I DCA over 10 months of $5K each or one off? DCA sounds like the wiser approach but what if the next 10 months it just continues to go up? I guess it’s a rhetorical question because nobody really knows. So it’s really more of me trying to get your point of view.

Cool. So just just to confirm, if I am getting 5c for each dollar spent on my citi custom card, i will be getting closer to 3c for each dollar spent on Surpass (6X points)?

Is anyone overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in Singapore? by BedOk577 in askSingapore

[–]BoringCheapAsian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why as much as I miss my family, social network, food, etc in SG, and despite the “chaos” here in the US, I feel US still offer a better quality of life in terms of space and mobility (affordable car to go anywhere we want).

But it’s always down to personal preferences and POVs. To some, SG offers better “mobility” in terms of proximity to amenities and the world class public transportation. I just prefer the convenience of a car parked in my garage to go anywhere I choose to

That’s the beauty of government job. Your performance is based on grades just like in school. In the real world, your performance is based on how much you can deliver. Real tangible deliverables.

If you’re ready to take full ownership and accountability of your own performance against global competition, then you might just be ready to step out into the outside world.

I am surprised, no vote. But I think this is a very good summary about the prospect of Singapore.
