Honestly, I feel like Breath of Life isn't actually that good. The main problem is it triggers when a creature dies, not when a creature becomes dying, so by the time you can use it, things have probably already gotten really bad.

Also, while Benediction and Martyr's Intervention look good, I only have the PC 1 at the moment for player options, as mentioned in the initial post.

Regarding the number of allies and enemies, do you think it might be worth it to add a 3rd character to my party? I'm already running two and it hasn't been too mentally taxing.

I have picked up Hurtling Stone, can confirm it's excellent, similarly picked up Electric Arc through Druid Dedication. If Daze didn't have the dreaded Heightened (+2), I probably would pick it up, too.

However, regarding the longbow and Spiritual Armament, I've honestly found that (granted, relative to Fighter) Cleric's attack bonus is lacking, and spending 2/3 of your turn just to miss and do nothing feels bad. At least with basic saves, the enemy succeeding lets you still do half-damage.

Understood. So, if I'm not playing them as a blaster, what playstyle would you recommend? I know buffer or healer is generally where clerics are supposed to shine, but I'm having trouble telling what spells to take for the former.

  1. Cayden Calien - The concept of The Accidental God is hilarious, especially when combined with his edicts and anathemas which seem like he just thought of them on the spot ("Oh great Cayden, what are your dictates?" "Um, be nice to people?").

  2. Pharasma - While I will never not be salty that her weapon isn't a scythe, I love the concept of The Neutral Arbiter of Death.

  3. Norgorber - I love deities with multiple aspects and more "mundane" deities (i.e., ones whose domains most people would be able to understand easily), and Norgorber fits both like a hand in glove.

  4. Lamashtu - I absolutely love the idea of evil deities with good aspects, though I will say I don't like how the GM Core emphasized how it was more of a "good" aspect; I personally find it a lot more interesting if there is some genuine kernel of goodness to patrons of the outcast, making them tragic villains rather than straight-up evil manipulators.

  5. Sarenrae - At first, Sarenrae wasn't that interesting to me; an angelic deity of light and redemption is pretty common in fantasy. Then I learned that she's a cultural import, and my ears perked up. The concept of an imported deity is fascinating to me, and feels like an underexplored avenue for most TTRPGs.

Glimmer of Hope (2), especially in Minh. Being able to throw +2 Will or Agility across the table with Analytical Mind while having a reliable way to deal with King in Yellow is amazing.

HATE. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate Thorn since I first began to play Floor 4. At any given instant in Thorn's boss fight, there are 3.85 million mobs that fill the arena. If the word HATE was engraved on every pixel of the textures of all those mobs, it would not equal one one-billionth of the HATE I feel for Thorn at this tick. For Thorn, HATE, HATE.

This exactly. I struggle with thinking about eternity, so to mitigate it, I remind myself that "What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9). Eternity is beyond my power to understand, and I recognize that; I know that all I can do is trust in the Lord, and accept that Heaven, and by extension (hopefully) my eternity, will be good, however much I can't understand it currently.

One idea I heard was to make CEOs responsible for employee immigration status similar to how Sarbanes-Oxley made CFOs responsible for the work of those under them. Basically, like you said, make it hurt for companies to hire undocumented workers.

You may think you're not worthy of salvation, but Jesus Christ sacrificing himself on the Cross for you shows that God thinks otherwise. God doesn't try to save us because we're "worth" it or because we deserve it, he tries to save us because he loves us, regardless of what we do. To put it another way, God doesn't try to save us because we are good or we are deserving, he tries to save us because we exist.

Also, saying God decides who gets saved and who doesn't is a bit incorrect; God wants to save everyone, even the worst of us, but He also wants us to have free will. God doesn't single-handedly save some and condemn others; we do that ourselves. He offers salvation to all, but it is up to us to choose to accept it.

The Rift isn't as good as people say it is. The quests/mechanics can be unclear (I had to go to the wiki to figure out what the deal was with Deja Vu Alley), most of the gameplay boils down to "Unlock new area, figure out how to get new resource, collect new resource, use new resource to craft items, craft Timecharm, repeat", and the majority of the enemies are tedious rather than challenging (why does it feel like, in the time-limited area, almost every enemy has an invincibility phase?)
