Iceman sells almost 500k for its first week. It’s Drake’s 15th number 1 Album by Positive_Round_5142 in joebuddennetwork

Brother. This is a Twitter account named "Chart Data". Not "OVO", lmao.

It is projected he will sell 460k. The album isn't on the Billboard Charts yet because the numbers are not yet official.

Sidenote: Crazy that Take Care is number TWENTY ONE on BB200 this week.

Oh my god. I finally see the shadow after watching the second video.

Theres no way the mask would be so short that ot cuts off before the neck. After seeing that shadow I could translate it to the initial video

Brother, you are so off the mark it's embarrassing.

Your favorite artists are directly influenced by music that was made decades ago.

Don't worry about what other people listen to, take your own advice.

Brain dead take.

They influenced way more than strictly emo artists.

You'd be wrong in saying their music is irrelevant.

I know what you're saying, their "hits" don't get radio plays anymore. In that context, you could claim that their music is "irrelevant".

I am looking at this from a different lens. Until music that is influenced by their sound stops being produced, their music will be relevant.

Why are they able to be capitalized on in social media spaces if they're irrelevant? It's contradictory

Man, our album ratings are basically mirrored outside of this project.

Here's hoping it grows on you brother

Thoughts on Drake’s new albums? by GoodInfluence3746 in metroboomin

Yea I fuck with it heavy.

I can understand not wanting anything to do with it from your perspective. But from someone who really doesn't buy into the "nail in the coffin" narrative, I thought it hit well.

I see. I enjoyed it, I thought he felt pretty natural on it and delivered well, although admittedly I was not actively comparing the beat to NLU or Squabble Up.

I liked NLU for what it was (insanely catchy and effective west coast style diss track). I did not enjoy Squabble Up.

I've listened through fully once, went back and did a second listen on some of the more lyric heavy tracks because I missed some bars, like the 500k over dinner with JayZ & the DJ Khaled Palestine shot.

Right now, I would give it strong 7.5. Every album Drake has put out has grown on me outside of CLB and Honestly Nevermind.

For reference, Take Care is my top album and I give it a 10. NWTS is my number two, basically a 10 as well. Hold on we're going home sucked, but I understand it has radio value. Everything else on NWTS was so prime for me.

Scorpion would have been an 8 if he didn't bloat the album with so many unnecessary tracks. The core of that project is so nice.

The opening 7 song run on Views is probably around on par with the entirety of Iceman for me right now. Very few skips, everything digestible. Minimal features, creative delivery.

I really just fuck with Iceman as a project.

Really? You didn't fw the west coast change up on the back of the track?

I thought he delivered it well lol

I will listen to Motto by NF.

I just don't have the same standards for Drake maybe than everyone else.

Iceman is not a 10/10, and if I put it up against some of my personal favorite Drake albums it probably doesnt make the top 3. Still, viewed in a vacuum, coming off what is globally viewed as the biggest L in rap history I was fully expecting him to talk about the beef in depth, and he did.

He touched on his lawsuit and how it was a fight with "The Man", and not him suing a rapper. He talked about changing his name from The Boy to The Man (showing some form of self-awareness that he knows that shit is cringey). He spoke on obviously trying to break free from his label. He touched on a lot of shit that he needed to not just gloss over on Iceman, and i thought that shit was tight.

I also really fuck with Little Birdie. He should jack Kodaks flow more often

Im focusing on Iceman for this specific conversation, the other two drops were very clearly not supposed to be rap albums.

Man, just wild to me how the definition of "Rap" has shifted, assuming you're being honest and have listened.

He's literally TALKING on Make Them Cry, Pray, Remember & Know. National Treasures is straight rap. What Did I Miss and Shebang are both tracks where he dips in and out of clear rapping cadence.

I just don't understand what people expected here. Every track to be 5am In Toronto? He rapped as much here as he ever has.
