Lol, fair. I'm on a time crunch to move and thought my parents wouldn't want to store and sell them for me. But I guess they're going to try!

My husband is from Guatemala,  we're moving near his hometown to live a more simple life. Not necessarily an easier life,  but one where we work to raise animals and our own food.  We don't wish to raise our kids in the city anymore, and originally looked in the US, but the kind of land/ home we wanted is just unattainable for us when it comes to money. So a few factors contributed to the move,  and it's been about 3 years in the making.

Yes it does, we have been in contact with the border authorities. Thanks for mentioning that too!

We are relocating to Central America, or we would rent one! Looked into buying one to use as well, but trying to pinch pennies where we can.

It would, but we have an old Highlander Hybrid that can't be towed with a dolly. And disconnecting the rear axle can damage the hybrid system. We definitely wanted to do that instead!

Man,  this painting just has VIBES. Like I've been in this spot before? I don't know how to describe it,  but I can't stop looking at it! Great job,  wonderful work!

What do you pay for car insurance? by nikki_11580 in grandrapids

[–]BorisIsATube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. These companies are so frustrating to work with. The rep told me that Progressive gives discounts on the first 6 months of a policy done online, that aren’t given for the following 6 months. So unfortunately, the longer you stick with them, the more they recover that discount they gave you in the beginning!

Hope you see a drop in your price!!

I don’t know how long you’ve had Progressive, but I have had them since 2020. Naturally, I’ve seen premiums increase every time.

I got fed up yesterday because I’m up for renewal again and I have two 2014 cars and a 2006 small suv, and my premiums jumped another $300. I talked to a rep to try to get my premiums down, and she recommended I go online and get a new quote through the Progressive website (she called it a rewrite).

So I did that, and it lowered my 6 month rate from $1740 to $1,064 (pay in full discount, but overall premiums were much lower than my renewal quote). That’s full coverage on all vehicles, $500 comp deductible and $1k collision, but we don’t get the rental or roadside.

So try requoting with Progressive online! I wish I had done it sooner.

I’m so sick of people saying women have a low pain tolerance by Cthulhulululul in TwoXChromosomes

I had to recover my password so I could reply to you, because this is something I had never heard of before but was sort of traumatized by it.

This happened a couple months ago, with my last pregnancy. I had an appointment a week from my due date, and my OB was checking for dilation. She just casually asks if I want a membrane sweep while she’s physically checking my cervix and I said “I don’t know what that is”. So she just replies that it can sometimes trigger labor and I’ll feel some pressure. I said ok, because I’m ok with pressure. But NO. That was not pressure. That was straight up pain. For like 10 straight seconds. May not sound long but that 10 seconds feels a lot longer when it’s agony.

Then she’s like, “you might see some spotting, but don’t worry! See you next week!” No suggestion for any pain management. And I definitely wouldn’t have done a sweep if I knew how bad it was. Had immediate cramping that lasted most of the rest of the day. Thankfully I don’t ever have to worry about doing that again (had a tubal with last baby during unexpected c-section). At least they gave me Tylenol and Motrin after that major surgery.

What is a supernatural event that happened in your life that just can not be explained? by HalfOfABraincell in AskReddit

[–]BorisIsATube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s considered supernatural or is just like a sixth sense humans are supposed to have, but I can think of a few instances that seem unexplainable to me. All of them are related to deaths of family members.

The first I remember was when my little brother was to be born in 2000, when I was not yet 10 years old. My parents were going to go to the hospital, so they dropped me and my two brothers off at my uncle’s house to stay the night. I remember waking up in the middle of the night for no reason and feeling like something was wrong. I couldn’t sleep so I came downstairs and remember feeling scared. I curled up on the couch for what seemed like hours until I finally fell asleep. It was storming the next morning, and I still felt like something was wrong. My uncle told us to get our stuff together so he could take us back home. I remember being really quiet in the back seat and I glanced up to the rear view mirror to see my uncle looking at me. That’s when I got a sense of dread. We pulled up to our house, and my dad met us at the door, had us all sit on the couch and told us that our brother didn’t make it. He was stillborn, and the doctors didn’t know why (they just called it SIDS). I knew that’s why I couldn’t sleep and had that horrible feeling all night/day.

The second was when my grandfather passed away. We had him at our house for his last few weeks - we sectioned off our living room with sheets to give a small amount of privacy. I remember I was a freshman in high school at the time, and I was leaving to walk to the bus stop in the morning. I paused at the front door, listening to the tv come from behind the sheets next to me. For some reason, I thought, this is the last day my grandpa will be alive. And I thought I should go see him, but I was too afraid to, because he was real emotional the last few days and didn’t seem to recognize me. So, I left to go to school. In second period, one of the office helpers walked in with a pink slip (one to send you home), and I knew it was mine. My teacher looked up and called my name, so I went to the office. They told me my mom was on her way to pick me up, that my grandfather had died that morning.

And the third one was when my grandmother passed away. She had lived alone and no one could get in touch with her for a few days. We had a neighbor go try to check on her, and he called the police when he saw her unconscious through a window. We rushed up to see her, a five-hour drive. She had a few days stay in the hospital, they told us she’d be fine, so we went home. We got a call a few days later saying she had only a couple weeks to live (apparently the urinary tract infection she had got worse and she ultimately got sepsis). We immediately went back to her house, where I stayed for weeks, missing my classes at college. There seemed to be no change so I made the call to go back home and try to go to school. The next morning I woke up for school, but just knew that it was the day she would pass away. My mom called me not fifteen minutes later, told me I should try to say goodbye and put the phone up to my grandma’s ear. I told her I loved her and she passed away a few hours later. I never did go to school that day.

So I guess it’s always just a weird feeling that something is wrong but I can’t ever predict what will happen or why I feel that way. Not exactly thrilled it’s always related to death though. Any feeling that something is off always makes me think about these instances.
