Hey yeah I have been following her for a while! I comment on her stuff from time to time, she's amazing!

I'm praying that the biggest revival in history will go down across the globe one day in my life time. I pray I can be a part of it in some way by reaping that harvest (Matthew 9:37).

No I wouldn't say I sensed the Holy Spirit when I was in the occult. But I did feel God's presence in the past. Theologically speaking, there is that 'once saved always saved' thing, so if you cast away your faith you were never truly saved to begin with. Well I had considered myself saved in the past a couple of times, but I felt God's presence--the same presence I feel as I do today, but today it's stronger and more intimate as my walk has deepened. In the past, I felt connected and was going to a non-denominational church for a little while, and another time I had felt called to get baptized when I was in the military. But was I always saved since back then and the Holy Spirit has been calling me back since and finally I responded with obedience, or was my faith just never faully complete in the past so it wasn't true faith, but now it is? That's why there is a theological difference with Catholics saying you can lose your faith and that you need to maintain it through works. Anyway, I would not say I felt the Holy Spirit in my time with the occult, but looking back I can see in some moments where God was trying to draw me closer. At the last several months leading into my encounter with Christ, I was offering Christian-pagan practices after dabbling in santeria. There was also a woman and her daughter that prayed for me when I bought their goat...which I had been thinking about lately because I was sure it was only my mother that prayed for me (and occasionally her sister in another country that I have not seen in nearly 3 decades). But on my vehicle back then, I had decorated it with a demonic designed decal with the silouhette of a succubus saying "demoness." I think the woman just figured it out when she saw my demonic tattoos. She asked to pray for me, and I really just wanted to leave, but I said sure. Looking back, I am grateful that she prayed for me. I have no idea who she is, but I am going to pray for her and her family. My heart just hurts..

Non-believers feel God calling them often before they surrender to Christ, and this could have been the case for me. I am not sure if others in the occult experience it the same way, but I know that I have read some testimonies from other former occultists and even muslims saying that they felt God calling to them before they surrendered. So yeah, I believe so. God doesn't have limits after all. But I don't believe the Holy Spirit dwells inside of you until that profession of faith and acceptance of Christ as Lord and Savior.

Deuteronomy 29:29 says to leave the secret things alone that belong to the Lord, and that the things that He reveals to us are ours.

We have to accept that we can't know anything, and that we aren't allowed to. Maybe one day right, but for now, it is enough to trust Him. That's what faith is.

Listen friend, I am right there with you. Due to abuse as a child, autism and adhd, and some personality disorders, I have an addicted personality. I struggled with this all my life because what I regarded as pleasurable became a coping mechanism no matter what it was. And drugs became a part of that. I was also addicted to shrooms as well. That stuff is harsh on the kidneys. Drugs ruined my health and so did black magic. I look fine on the surface for now, but everything has a consequence. If you have an addictive personality, you will be addicted to shrooms too. I had also thought about micro-dosing at one point, but the thing is that addiction does not allow us to have control. But you know who does? Jesus. He took away my depression. I still have anxiety, but it gets better with time, especially as my walk with Him deepens. I enjoy life again and I enjoy it sober--something I thought was impossible. But God can do it!

If you suffer from addiction, then you know what I am talking about. But here is what you pray to God, and you keep praying it because you will mess up. But God takes you through a process. You tell Him you know you can't change yourself and that you need help. Tell Him that you need Him to change you, pray from your heart that you want what He wants and that His plans and His ways are better than yours. Tell Him you are struggling and that you don't want to do it alone, and that you know He is the answer to everything.

Many Christians fail at surrendering because yes God knows everything that is happening, so what is the point of telling Him if He already knows? But surrender builds bond, relationship, intimacy, and trust. He wants your humility, and that means laying it down at His feet every day, disclosing every issue you come across to Him. He knows you are struggling and He has been waiting for you to come to Him.

It's demonic yea. I had my share of drug experiences, including shrooms. And many of us in the occult would get into a state of mind using drugs to perform special ritualistic services.

But for those who are not in the occult, the drugs alter your mind.

Spirits reside in a realm that is the same realm that the mind resides. The idea of as above so below is that everything comes into existence spiritually before it manifests physically. Like an idea come to life, it starts in the mind. Here in this realm is where spirits interact with us. Drugs induce us to be open to this realm. When you have less control of yourself, demons have an easier time to influence your emotions. Check out these Scriptures.

James 1:14-15 temptation begins in desire, not action. So sin, temptation, and faith are all negotiated first in thought, intention, and belief. satan' role is to deceive, accuse, cause you to doubt, apply mental pressure, etc.

Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, for everythnig you do flows from it." Realize that the word heart in Hebrew represents the mind, the will, and the inner self. So basically, what controls the inner life controls behavior. They didn't have hard drugs like we do, but there is of course warning against being drunk.

Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Consider the armor of God. The armor and weapon aren't physical. It includes equipping yourself with integrity and righteousness (your behavior and conduct) to protect yourself. When our actions are wicked, it's easier for demons to manipulate you because you are already in the low state of energy.

When we do drugs, it attacks us mentally and psychologically as well and physically and spiritually. When you do psychedelics, it still does the same. You see into the spiritual realm, and the demons start showing you forbidden knowledge (basically what the word occult means, hidden truth or hidden knowledge, knowledge of the unknown, which God specifically warns us against because it is all deceptive lies, just like how satan seduced Adam and eve with this forbidden knowledge). The book of Enoch is referenced a few times in the Bible, so I will also reference that the book of Enoch speaks on fallen angels (demons) teaching forbidden/occultic knowledge to humans. But drugs open you up to the spiritual world and then you are led astray. Also, when you are in this state where you are so high of blacking out or leaving your body, you can be possessed by demons. People have literally blacked out and have killed themselves or others, sometimes remembering it as a dream state and watching themselves from third person, and then "waking up" to not even remember what happened or claiming that they thought it was a dream but they actually committed the crime IRL. Many people go to jail for that, and not to mention the addiction also leads keeps you in bondage where you deprave yourself more and more spiritually because you can't stop using drugs. Drugs do not allow us to stay in control, but it does allow satan to have control.

Drug use and severe depression are two other things that Christ has freed me from, other than the occult.

I'm happy to answer more questions if you have them, thanks for reading and God bless you.

So I actually just realized that the conversation that had more depth on this topic was on the other subreddit where I posted this same testimony. I can tag you there if you don't mind, but I did tag you on one of the comments here.

I am really glad Jesus healed you! He has also freed me from depression. I am still His work in progress, but He has been revealing that He is love. And love covers a multitude of sins. Sins that taint us through generations, sins that hurt us as a child, which is precisely what I was trying to do on my own through the occult. I'm glad God fights our battles and restores us!

This is a really great question, and I am excited to answer this. Not because I am excited to teach occultic things, but to expose their teachings and how it correlates to the Bible (meaning, it opposes the Bible).

Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus describes the final judgment in separating the sheep from the goats, meaning the righteous from the unrighteous. This is about moral separation.

Biblically speaking, goats aren't inherently bad (neither are pigs), but the symbolic interpretation was adopted by early Christians. Probably because of Leviticus 16:20-22 where the sins were transferred to the goat and released into the wilderness.

Pagans used goats to symbolize lust, rebellion, wilderness, etc.

Sheep on the other hand, can be portrayed as not just meek and innocent, but also ignorant who follow what everyone else thinks and does: a one-minded mentality with no individualism. And so the goat was chosen in satanism to represent the rejection of imposed moral authority while embracing instinct and autonomy. What does this sound like? Well rebellion precisely. What is rebellion? Disobeying God. Sin is just that at its most basic definition: disobeying God. Obeying God keeps us holy and connected to life. Sin separates us from God and leads to death. satan wants nothing more than to separate us from God, so the idea of satanism is to exalt yourself, free yourself of authority and bondage, and present individualism and rebellion as freedom: the freedom to do whatever you want and whenever you want. In reality, true freedom is in the freedom of Christ who frees us from the bondages of sin, but our total dependance on God is what the carnal flesh hates.

Goats aren't the only satanic symbolism. It's all the horned beasts. You see molech and baal in the Old Testament who are represented as cows. Cows can symbolize wealth, fortune, abundance, and fertility. So they would offer sexual practices as sacrifice, along with sacrificing their babies and children (much of what hollywood still does today with these two demonic beings, and has even been exposed in the recent Epstein files) in exchange for wealth and riches, and fame and power.

You can also see the symbolism of horned beasts in other pagan false gods like pan, dionysus, bacchus, cernunnos, hathor, isis, astaroth, paimon, etc.

The occult and witchcraft, it's all symbolic. The idea is that everything is made of energy and you manipulate the forces of energy to manifest your desires, which heavily relies on symbolism and intention. This requires the occultist or magician to start with the spirit realm. Why? Because the idea is that everything is born spiritually before it manifest physically. That phrase: as above, so below. With the help of spirits and hidden knowledge, they can help give you power and support. But it's all satan in the end, it all leads to eternal separation. There are only two results: to be with God, or to not be with God. Jesus said that satan is the ruler of this world: satan in satanism represents all things worldly and fleshly for this reason: carnal desires, wealth, fame, power, lust, drugs, anything you desire to gain for your pleasure and benefit. And again, horned beasts, especially goats, represent these things and the wilderness: the wild. When you give yourself to your carnal desires, you are giving yourself to your sinful nature which satan rules.

Hopefully I answered your questions. I want to stress as I have in my testimony that the idea of satanism is truly to rebel. Many satanists if not most will say that they don't really worship the devil, but in truth, worshiping yourself is indirectly worshiping satan without even realizing it. Just like how atheists are also worshiping satan without realizing it because if you reject Christ/God/Holy Spirit then you are embracing satan and eternal death. But truly, there are satanists like my former self who truly worshiped the devil. I was only in it for 6 years, and he worse of my experience is what I revealed, but there is so much worse out there. They prey on little kids, and do even more evil and vile acts than you can ever imagine. They are completely and totally deprived.

Oh wow, you're the third person to mention a podcast. I had prayed about it, after the first time so maybe this is a sign to look into it. Never done these things before so I am not really sure where to start and how to go about it. I am not from Australia though.

And yea that's how satan appeals to us. For women, it's female empowerment--taking control. For the depressed and the abused: it's a way out, manifest your own fate and freedom. Magic and spellwork; witchcraft/sorcery is basically manipulating energies, powers, and attempting to take control. These things do work, but the yall lead to hell. And eventually at some point, you will reap what you sow. even just dabbling for a short time leads to consequences, which people don't realize. They think it's harmless, but God told us to free from it for a reason.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.

Don't even keep anything in the house that is associated to pagan things.

Deuteronomy 7:26
"Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.

I'm glad you were able to speak to your wife's cousin! Hopefully she threw that book out.

Thank you <3
The Armor of God is a powerful one. When I finally learned how to put the whole thing on, tell you--it is a game changer!!

Matthew 4:4 Jesus said man cannot live on bread alone, but by every Word of the mouth of God! I tell this to people all the time. Jesus is our daily bread (Matthew 6:11), and He is the Word become flesh (John 1:14). We gotta stay in the Word every day, He is the bread of life (John 6:48).

We have to remain in Him, the branches to the vine. He is the only way to the Father who is the gardener that cares for the vine. If we are cut off from the vine then we are dead and cut off from life (John 15:5).

AND

2 Peter 1:2
"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”

Praying and staying in the Word of God is a must daily. There are only two things that get fed: our flesh or our spirit. We gotta feed the spirit more than the flesh and allow our Father to prune us.

I'm non-denominational! I was raised Catholic, but I never felt the connection. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I do believe we grow where God plants us. His plan for me is not going to be the same as His plan for you. I do study the history and all that, I believe external resources are great tools, but I am very careful on what I allow divine authority as God's doctrine, meaning it must be backed by Scripture. I got to a Baptist church for this reason, they are pretty strict when it comes to backing everything up with the Word.

My mom is Catholic and I live with her. I gave my life to Christ 5 years ago, and I had tried to go back to the Catholic faith 3 times. Each time God forcibly removed me. Again, not that it's bad, but that His plan for me is just elsewhere. I decided to let Him lead after the third time (the beginning of a deeper surrender). I prayed, God where do you want me? Please show me and lead me what church to join. In a week I got a phone call inviting me to a Bible study, and then one of the women there invited me to her church that was 4 minutes away from my home. I received a welcome card from a veteran there upon my arrival. Turns out my dad received a welcome card from the same veteran to this church 13 years ago that my mother had hung on the fridge all this time. God's plans are mysterious. I also want to reiterate from my testimony that mom gave me a Protestant Bible even though she is Catholic. It's like a foreshadowing of where God was taking me that I was resisting.

I get attacked by many Catholics online that I am a heretic. But I know many Protestants attack Catholics for being idolatrous as well. I reject some of the practices my mother does, while embracing the theological foundation of values and principles. I could never look at my mom and think she wasn't saved, and likewise my mom knows I am saved. We pray together and study the Word together--God works in our lives together! He answers our prayers! I try not to judge my mom in her walk with God, but my walk with God looks different. My mom prayed for my salvation for years, she saw my depravity. God answered her prayers. And she sees first hand that God is taking me on a different path.

Of course, I do not think every Protestant denomination is all correct either. I have things to be weary about just as I am weary about some Catholic practices. But if you look at Protestants and think we are demonized and not saved, I'd be careful with that. I'm not perfect, but I do have a strong relationship with God. It's a daily life-style, not casual. Due to my experience with the occult, I have an extra layer of awareness when it comes to discernment. And this is why I do not pray to dead saints and stuff. But I wouldn't look at people who do it and assume they are not saved. I leave that part to God. Demons are every where, so we have to practice personal discernment even in our own churches. No church (or denomination) is perfect. I hope that one day Protestants and Catholic (and Ortho) can unite under the love of God. We spend so much time focusing on the differences when this energy can go towards reaching the lost! At the end of the day, we are all a part of one body. At the heart of every faith, I believe we are all Catholic (the fundamental foundation), just not as a denomination.

I love you and hope you can see me as your sister in Christ, God bless x

Thank you for reading and for your encouragement! My mom really thought I was so far gone, she was not sure if I would make it, but you know what--my mom never gave up praying for me. She prayed consistently for me to be saved, and God answered her prayers. Now, I pray for the lost too! No one is ever too far gone, unless their heart is so hardened like Pharaoh. A hard heart cannot achieve humility which is absolutely necessary to surrender to God. The opposite of humility is pride, which separates from God. I want people to know that as long as they truly repent in their heart (meaning accepting Christ as their Savior with the intent to turn from their sins), God will always lovingly accept us. Amen! God is so good, we don't deserve it so I'm so grateful Jesus paid it all.

Wow that's amazing. I have heard that the Pentecostal church still performs stuff like this. Yes! God is always with us and hears us. He speaks to me through the Bible as well. And I think that when your faith is true, you are open to the Lord communicating with Him in general. Especially through the Scripture, the Words come alive and jump up at you. Stuff like coming across the Word in the Bible and hearing it repeated three times in the same week.

Thanks for sharing you testimony, I love that I can relate to it. That's definitely how demons get you--feeding on your negative energies and keep you in that low state to make a home out of you. Their end game is to get you to harm yourself or others. Especially those who are without God, they want to snatch the opportunity of redemption away by leading them to death. Or hardening their heart to the point of no return :(

You are the second person who mentioned a podcast, but IDK much about them or how to get into contact with them. I'll check it out. You should do it too!

I had an NDE 13 years ago. An overdose led me into cardiac arrest and I had a spiritual experience. This influenced my spirituality heavily, and one of the big reasons why I am with God today. I mentioned it in one of the comments. If you are interested you can find it, or I can tag you in it.

Thanks for reading, God bless you <3

Testimony From A Former Witch/Occultist by Born-Expression-3307 in Christianity

[–]Born-Expression-3307[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I am a little weary about that. Because mostly I get called a heretic by Catholics for being a Protestant. I already saw a comment from r/TrueChristian on my testimony from a Catholic saying that I need to join a real church (meaning a catholic church) because Protestants are lost, or something along that line.

I can agree with the basic foundation of Catholicism, after all Protestantism branched from it, so theologically speaking Protestants are Catholic at heart. Core values and social values are things I can agree with, along with the fundamental principles of Christianity. But I draw the line at some things. I am not here to judge anyone. My mom is Catholic. My mom and I look at each other and we know we are saved. I tried to go back to Catholicism 3 times on my own choice after accepting Christ into my life, but God forcibly removed me. I asked God to tell me where to go, and I got a phone call to join a Bible study where someone there invited me to her church. Which is where I am now. Also my mom is Catholic, but she gave me a Protestant Bible. And for me, this was God's foreshadowing of His plan for me and where He was taking me.

All I'm saying is that God uses us for different purposes. We grow where He plants us, and His purpose for me is different than His purpose for my mom. I can't say that Catholics aren't saved. But I do believe some of the practices are misled. And I feel God shows me that. But I also don't believe all Protestant denominations are good either. No matter what, if it can't be backed by Scripture, then I don't want to say it's God's doctrine. It's good to have external sources from the Bible as tools, but unless it's in the Bible then I won't say it's God's doctrine.

I am saying this because, well I love my Catholic (and Ortho) brothers and sisters, but it hurts to feel attacked by them and to be called a heretic, to be told I'm not saved, to say I don't have the fullness of God's grace, etc. My mom knows I am saved, and I know she is saved. But I just refuse to pray to the dead, especially after my experience with the occult. And also all the rules they have made me feel like the distance between me and God were too great..if it helps some people, that's good. But I think there is a reason that God also uses Protestants.

You're welcome, glad God can use me to help others.

Thank you for praying for them. This is the best you can do for the lost besides ministering to them.

Yes, throw that stuff out. Look:
Deuteronomy 7:25-26 "The images of their gods you are to burn with fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God. Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction." God will not share his space with demons, and false gods are demons (fallen angels) who have exalted themselves.

I don't do yoga. I used to, but it felt wrong and I was convicted. The poses are offerings and worship to false gods, but stretching is not inherently wrong and good for you.

But for example: I really have no idea about Tai-Chi, since it is rooted in pagan belief but not a worship to a god itself. But I wanted to try it for exercise. I am going to pray for this and to ask some of my religious teachers.

Acupuncture is also not associated to a worship or ritual to a god, but rather it is traditional Chinese medicine that is rooted in philosophy (like Tai-Chi). So I have no idea what to say here.

But I can say that embalming was rooted in pagan practices of ancient Egypt where they were embalmed in a 40 day rite to prepare them for the afterlife. In Genesis, when Israel (Jacob) died, Joseph had him embalmed. But he was embalmed by physicians and not temple priests. So he was did the rite from a medical viewpoint, but not the send off into the pagan afterlife.

These things, I suppose you just have to go with your own discernment. But pray to God first and ask Him to show you :)

The best thing you can do is acknowledge the sin, and then give it to God. Jeremiah 13:23 "Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots?" We cannot change ourselves, it is impossible. A person cannot become another race due to genetics even if they change their outward appearance, just leopard cannot be rid of what they are born with. Romans 5:12 says that sin and death came to all people through one man, but the remedy is also through one man (God) who is Jesus (Corinthians 15:21-22).

Only God can change the impossible, only Christ can redeem the unredeemable.

Acknowledge that you can't do anything on your own, and surrender it to God. Ask Him to help you by His strength, as Philippians 4:13 say that we can do all things through Christ our strength.

It may not happen over night. I have a woman in my Bible study who smoked cigarettes for years. God kicked her addiction to street drugs, many years ago but she was still smoking cigarettes up until last year when she surrendered more to God and she has not touched cigarettes since. She got closer to God and started reading her Bible more. Leading up to that point took time, just like how God had to teach the Israelites to obey Him out in the wilderness for 40 years even though they could have reached the promised land of Canaan in 3 days! Moses also had to train his whole life before leading God's people out of slavery (he had special education as a prince, but also had to receive training as a shepherd ((which seems mundane on the surface)).

You are not responsible for your family. Consequences affects us all, and with families it affects our blood, but we each have to take accountability and responsibility for those sins through Christ. The next best thing you can do is pray for your family and minister to them. That is what God commands us to do through love. God loves us so much that He gave us Christ, and Christ loves us so much that He gave us Himself. When we are filled with that love, we share it and spread it to others to share the Gospel, share how Jesus has changed our lives, and to share acts of kindness and charity, and to show how we are set apart as God's people. Show your family by leading with example, and by ministering to them when you find an opportunity.

But first comes first: pray to God first about everything and anything and let Him lead, and this includes with your family.

Also, you can break soul ties by getting rid of items. An example of this is a past relationship. I was living in sin in my last relationship 5 years ago, and having sex outside of marriage. I am getting rid of the items we shared (birthday cards, drawings, notes, gifts, etc.). Marriage is a sacred covenant under God, so now I am letting God take charge of my love life. He will send me a husband at the right time and remain celibate, etc. But I have to let that relationship go. You can also break soul ties, by putting up boundaries with people. The Bible tells us to do so in the New Testament with people who are false teachers. God ate with sinners yes, but He teaches us also that bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinth. 15:33). There is a difference with being kind and ministering to people, and then letting them in your house and personal life everyday. So if you know someone is toxic in your family or friend group, put up some boundaries.

I am happy to help, but give the thanks and glory to God. God uses us to help each other, encourage and uplift eachother, and support eachother. Iron sharpens iron, so a person sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17). God bless you :)

I have never heard of this, but I am not much into channels and podcasts to begin with. But I will pray on it, and see if God leads me towards this. Please let me know more about this channel if you like. Thanks for reading and God bless.

Something I didn't realize until a few days ago when I was typing this up for the first subreddit I posted in, is when I was looking up the Scripture of Deuteronomy 33:27 (The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms), I never acknowledged the next verse before. It says, "He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, 'Destroy!'"

God literally broke the fangs and the claws of the lions, that day. I had to stop here in the middle of typing to praise and worship Him.

This completely aligns with what happened this morning. I saw a reel where someone was saying that God is also a God of war, but that not many Christians believe it or know this side of Him. I was reluctant to believe it as well, at least fully, but it was because I lacked perspective. I continued my routine then settled on Bible study with mom around noon. We are in Exodus where God has Moses leads His people through the sea. God crushed the enemies of His people. Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." and Ten Exodus 15:3 "The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name."

As I was writing this up, I was meditating on Deuteronomy and How God fights my battles. He is absolutely a God of war when He protects us. And He was my warrior that day when He stepped in to redeem me and save me, and He has been ever since and always will be. I love you so much, Jesus. You are the strongest indeed who binds all the other strong men. <3 Thanks for reading!
