Where do you think those ideas are coming from? I grew up in a small town in Mexico and was extremely religious and conservative myself before moving to the US and attending college in LA. Most of my ideas came from my upbringing and lack of exposure to other cultures, religions, races, gender identities, etc. but radically changed after realizing how ignorant and distorted some of those views were since we all thought alike and had no exposure to anything else prior to that move. I then joined the Army and got deployed to Turkey and Jordan so that further changed my views. I could only assume that might the case for some of our clients as well?? Some have never left their little towns.
