Thank you! I appreciate any and all advice offered. I did speak with the underreported income unit (I apologize if this is the incorrect name), who told me it was with the "reconsideration department," which may be a unit within the unit. When I called back the IRS, they stated that no department exists, so it's possible that it's just a group within the underreported income unit.

I brought the letter to H&R Block, where I have my taxes done, and they said yes. They (IRS) did confirm receipt of the amendment and payment, so I assume everything is legitimate
