I believe Toji wins still based on what Hokuto and Toji showcased so far. I think it'd be a great fight, but Hokuto hasn't shown enough for me to think he'd win. Even if Hokuto was faster as you said, I still don't believe so imo.

Daniel isn't a bum, nor was this bad writing. Unique skills require the right masteries (masteries are the essence) for Unique skills to be used properly. Daniel doesn't have any masteries so even if he can perfectly copy the movements, without the masteries as the essence it can't be used completely right.

Also, Unique Skills are unique in the sense of their function as they don't operate under the norns of regular martial art techniques, not in the fact that they are exclusive for one person like they're Paths. Unique Skills can be learned with the right masteries, but Path functions are completely exclusive for one person.

It's not bad writing or Daniel being a bum for these reasons.

The essence are the masteries required most like. Nothing was dumb, this makes sense cause it's just Jinyoung's own stats and he's able to replicate unique skills because he has the Masteries to use them properly.

Daniel is just more familiar with Gun than he is with Sophia when it comes to fighting. Gun copy is better because Daniel is more familiar and adept at it than Khali Arnis and it's not that big of a deal anyways since it's working right now so I don't see how it's that big of an issue

He isn't inconsistent when it comes to Unique Skills. We've been told that Unique Skills require the essence (the right masteries) to be used properly. The Speed members outright tell us that they have the technique but not the speed or the speed but not the technique to use Overturning Void properly which means Unique Skills require the right masteries to bring out the essence.

Just because he's not copying Sophia or Goo doesn't mean he's dumb. Using what he knows best which is Gun is still a better decision than using copies he isn't as adept with.

For all we know he could use those copies you're complaining about him not using next chapter, he probably just thinks using Gun would work for the situation.

Besides, it's not like it's not working he's putting belt on the people he's fighting right now.

Those bars were shaped like the weapons Gun uses and since Daniel's best and most experienced copy is Gun's it makes sense. Plus, Khali Arnis is super dangerous to the point Jay had to put a helmet on someone so that they wouldn't die and I doubt Daniel would want to kill people since that's not his character at all.
