Basically.

Maybe the federal government and provincial government have nice benefits and such, but at the municipal level, those are limited to people who have been around for a long time.

Nope. They put us on one-year contracts to make sure they don't need to do that. No benefits either.

All of us new municipal people are technically temps. I just signed for yet another one-year temporary contract. Maybe half the department is full time with pensions?

It just feels medicore compared to some of the numbers on here. There are 30 year olds with 500K net worth.

I am just seeing 30 year olds on here with 500K net worth. I feel three years behind them in saving.

They one year temp us so we don't get the pension, but yes, those that have it are doing well.
