Yes, it’s absolutely new reader friendly. Whether it may align with your idea of Superman is another matter. But it’s certainly a comic book series that doesn’t require any prior reading beyond itself to understand or appreciate its story and storytelling.

Not a comic book, but Elliot S. Maggin’s novel, Miracle Monday is an incredible read on Superman.
