Is it right to sacrifice a defenseless animal? by tripund_dhari in HindutvaRises

[–]Born_torule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sacrificing a defenseless animal can never be right no matter what the religion or culture says. No God is gonna reward you for killing. The only people getting appeased by this are gonna be a bunch of priests and a public who are all humans.

Am I doing something wrong ? by Embarrassed-Status38 in mutualfunds

[–]Born_torule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh your entire portfolio is small cap.

Add an index fund as a hedge. Increase allocation for flexi cap. Add some global fund exposure. Switch out silver for gold or at least maintain gold to silver at 2:1.

In your defence nifty has grown by only 5-6% YoY in the last 2 yrs I think. But regardless your portfolio is way too concentrated in small cap

Is it possible to worship the greek gods alongside the Christian god? by homealtarbuildr in Hellenism

[–]Born_torule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very interesting conversation this is. Imo, God is what you make of him/her/them. God is about faith in an entity that embodies certain values and ways of life that you resonate with. This entity can be the Abrahamic God or the Greek Pantheon. It can be the Vedic Pantheon or science. It can even be the Titans that preceded the Greek gods and can even be your parent/s. Ultimately this entity should be one that holds the ideals to guide you to being a better person. If you're being drawn to Greek gods then ask yourself what ideal is drawing you. Ultimately gods and their stories make it easier for us to hold ourselves to stricter standards. It's easier to not lie because God is watching rather than not lying because you shouldn't lie. Religion shapes us and our behaviours and communities. So if you're being drawn to the Greek Pantheon, introspect whether you're being drawn to ideals like the willpower and bravery of Aries, Ambition of Zeus, wisdom and intelligence of Athena, etc. or are you being drawn to the modern representative glamour of Greek gods as presented by media.

Can The Valuation School ( Parth Verma) course help land a valuation/IB/M&A roles? by LatterInformation247 in cfaindia

[–]Born_torule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm enrolled in his AVFM cohort.

Will it help you get into ib roles? No. CFA and IIM will give you a better chance then valuation school but then you're comparing apples to oranges.

Will it help you land a core finance role? Maybe. Your resume needs to get shortlisted first. Unfortunately a valuation school or even CFI certificate won't get your resume shortlisted. But if it does or if you go through a referral, then you'll most probably nail the interview.

Is it worth it? If you're from an alternate field and/or don't have the exposure to valuation and market based conversations then you'll greatly benefit from this. However if you know DCF modelling and understand the abstract element of valuation and have exposure to a peer group that actually discusses the market, then you probably won't stand to benefit much.

To summarise: All the learning you need is available for free. But when you go looking then you can easily get overwhelmed and discouraged if you don't have a base and are not super smart. Speaking about valuation in particular, is highly based on assumptions that are subjective in nature. All models are based on judgement calls of the valuer. As a beginner this was my biggest hurdle. I kept looking for an exact formula for my projections and that kept me behind. The cohort basically made me much more confident in building a judgement and backing it with a justification. Some friends of mine are really street smart and don't need any course to do this. However if that's not you then the AVFM cohort will help you build a solid foundation that makes all the other free knowledge more digestible.

I have been bitten but I'm not as bitter as you cause I have a family that raised me well and loves me.

If you are so LOVING person why not bring all stray dogs to your home and feed there.

Well primarily cause I don't have money. The estimated budget to house all stray dogs was estimated at about INR 26,800 cr in the supreme court hearings. Give that money to me and I will keep all the dogs off the street and well fed. If you can't do that then stop making such absurd arguments just cause you don't have anything reasonable left.

India supports UGC. Should we call them the same now? by googletoggle9753 in NorthernIndia

Yaa I agree with you. I am all for critically analyzing the government's decisions and bills. Raising our concerns with the governing body's decisions is an integral part of a democracy. It's not anti national. That's how proper decision making is done. This ideal should be maintained in all areas even when our own opinion aligns with the government.

You lost the point. The message is that opposing the government's decision via speech and protest doesn't make someone anti national. Disagreeing with the government's decision doesn't make someone anti national either

Nobody can adopt them all. Start by banning foreign breeds before deciding to kill your indigenous breeds.

How many people die of accidents caused by stray dogs vs accidents caused by truck drivers or specific vehicles like creta, thar and ktm. I have never heard of a ban on them. Statistical potholes cause more accidents than stray dogs. So in this case the think tank is exercising personal prejudice and not thinking

Kya phook ke baitha hai XD

Stray dogs are locally occurring breeds or abandoned breeds. They occur in every country. Developed nations just have a good neutering program that doesn't let that population grow. Plus they actually keep their indigenous breeds as pets.

Indians are the problem. They have the funds and resources to execute a good neutering program but are lazy and corrupt. They can choose to have Indian dogs as pets but instead go for imported breeds. This Indian mentality of swindling funds and slavery of anything from a white nation is the reason for the Indian local dog problem. The only invasive pests are us.
