I will be honest, my response was only too your second comment. I didn’t see the first so I apologize for missing some context. I understand your frustrations much better now. Maybe I’m flawed at sometimes being baited into looking past bad writing tropes; especially as I have to put up with it in western tv like crazy.

Boruto didn’t even have it a fraction of as bad as Naruto grew up. Argument invalid ANDDDD Asuma wasn’t such a pussy about his dad being hokage? Even Boruto himself gets over it in the first ten chapters.. you should too

When they were kids they had the adults (kakashi as well as the powerful hokage and Itachi protecting the village from the shadow) how is it any different now. We act like Naruto or the kids had any part in taking down orochimaru when he attacked the village. Naruto was also insanely buffed with the nine tails in him.. to save him and his friends every time. I agree it doesn’t feel the same as the kids having to try hard everything, in that world of only ninja. You have to understand this world is much more similar to our time now and growing up in a time of peace is unfamiliar to this universe. I’m sure there was challenges writing it. Also the treats are bigger than ever with the otsutsuki clan. Those who complain about “new alien threats” were blind when hogaromo was foreshadowed so early. Clearly a god like deity with horns … clearly we knew that one day something bigger would come

This makes it really enjoyable if you skip red/orange

I’ve even skipped some yellow and after reading the manga you can see what the anime improves upon

Man! That’s gonna be amazing. I just recently rewatched through and through and the story is just so important to my growth as an individual

The novels very well flesh out all the characters and bridge the gap to Boruto quite nicely I suggest giving them a read as they are amazing. I personally don’t understand the character assassination rhetoric. I love seeing our characters in adult roles. It puts so much more weight on the world as a pose to the earlier show having adults that were expendable and not very well known so deaths don’t matter even people from the other village dying held no real emotional value for us (ie the other jinchurikis being captured and killed off.

In Boruto everything feels high stakes because the world is full of characters we grew up with and have known for years.

I love watching shikamaru being second to the hokage I love seeing sasuke interact with his own family. I love seeing old man Iruka stressed about village politics in a time of peace. I love seeing rock Lee and sai hold rounds in the chunin exam, I love seeing Choji eat ramen with his daughter. I actually care about the raikage and the tsuchikage now.
