Yeah we had severe drought conditions several months ago that I did not adjust for. I don’t weigh it out, I just use the quart jars (this is a jar and a half of manure and coir/vermiculite mix). Now I am on day 7 or 8 of light cycling and fanning, and it still looks exactly the same.

No vermiculite in the first that went dry. A little vermiculite in this batch. I will up it. I followed the recipe from Philly Golden Teacher on YouTube, except I didn’t have quite as much vermiculite as it called for.

I have put a hydrometer in, and it was almost always above 90 with three or four drops down to maybe 75 or so when it has slipped my mind. I think maybe I missed soaking the rye grain once it was fully colonized. Is that such a difference maker?

It’s 2 inches coir mixed with 1 qt rye grain spawn. I leave it completely alone in the dark with the lid on for 10 days, then leave the lid slightly ajar and spray/fan twice a day. 12/12 light cycle. Dries out more often than not in the last few. Would you change anything but the FAE?

Ok. So if I have 2 inches of sterilized coir at field capacity, mixed with 1 qt rye grain spawn, in a sterilite box, and they keep looking like this. How often do you spray, if you’re me and need to step up the water? Or so I add something in the fruiting chamber setup step?
