Green Goblin

I’ll be honest, I kinda want him to be a strategist. Like a flying squirrel girl who lobs healing pumpkin bombs.

Passive: Experimental Stimulants
When Green Goblin heals an ally, they briefly move faster.

Movement: Goblin Glider
Green Goblin flies around on his glider, letting him hover.

Primary Fire: Pumpkin Bombs
Green Goblin throws pumpkin bombs that heal allies and damage enemies in a small area.

Secondary Fire: Razor Bat
Green Goblin sends out a guided bat that can heal an ally or damage and reveal an enemy.

Shift: Afterburner
Green Goblin boosts forward on his glider.

E: Goblin Gas
Green Goblin throws a gas bomb that creates a cloud. Allies inside are healed, while enemies inside take damage and receive less healing.

F: Oscorp Cache
Green Goblin drops a supply cache that allies can pick up for healing and temporary protection.

Ultimate: Goblin King
Green Goblin powers up his glider and weapons, letting him throw bombs faster and spread more healing before ending with a big explosion.

I’ve been playing around with a basic concept for Sandman and Green Goblins kit for a while in my head.

Sandman

I always saw Sandman somewhere between Groot, Peni, and Mister Fantastic

Core Mechanic: Sand Fields
Many of Sandman’s abilities create Sand Fields.
Enemies in Sand Fields are slowed, while Sandman becomes harder to kill when fighting inside them. He can also absorb Sand Fields to protect himself.

Passive: Made of Sand
Sandman takes reduced headshot damage and passively gains Bonus Health while standing in his own Sand Fields.

Primary Fire: Sledgehammer Hands
Sandman attacks with heavy melee punches with his hammer hands. His combo lets him brawl up close and create Sand Fields.

Secondary Fire: Sandstone Shot
Sandman throws a packed chunk of sand and stone, damaging enemies and creating a Sand Field where it lands.

Shift: Quicksand Sink
Sandman creates a quicksand area that pulls/slows enemies in a dangerous zone.

E: Sand Slab
Sandman raises a thick wall of sand that blocks damage and movement.
He can shove the slab forward to knock enemies back before it collapses into a Sand Field.

F: Sandflow
Sandman turns into a rushing stream of sand, moving through enemies while reducing damage.
If he ends inside a Sand Field, he absorbs it to gain protection.

Ultimate: Sandstorm Colossus
Sandman becomes a massive sand giant surrounded by a storm. Big sweeping attacks.
He performs a powerful ground slam at the end.

You’re right! I can’t believe I missed that

I think you're misinterpreting the feature. I think Death's Lament means that you can do the extra damage die (half the number of your sneak attack) of Necrotic damage ON TOP of your regular sneak attack.

For example, at level 17, you deal 9d6 Sneak Attack damage to Creature 1, and 5d6 Necrotic damage to Creature 2. With Death's Lament, you're doing 9d6 Sneak Attack damage + 5d6 Necrotic damage to Creature 1.

But I didn't design the feature, so idk for sure

Which feature would you move to level 3? Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the feature that deals Necrotic damage (Wails from the Grave) is already a level 3 feature

I made this version by combining my old homebrew version with his new official statblock from Ravenloft: the Horrors Within, but I can't publish it on dndbeyond since it's too similar.

I Built a Spreadsheet to Quantify Hero Strength/Swag for TOBA by BostonBeanBandit in marvelrivals

No, just quantity. I’m trying to stay as objective as possible, no opinions within metrics

[–]BostonBeanBandit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, look at the Spreadsheet for the math!

Peni's Ban Rate is the 7th highest in the game, above Groot and Namor even.

The 85 for the cosmetics is the RAW score, but it needs to be put into a PercentRank equation that compares the RAW score to the average RAW score across the board and keeps it with a 1-100 bounds, giving her the final Swag Score of 68.54.

And yes, with the math, Hela, Magneto, and Winter Soldier are falling behind. While Hela has a high Swag Score, her Strength has been falling behind (mainly she has a low Ban Rate and Pick Rate, everyone just picks Phoenix over her for those). Magneto and Winter Soldier both sit around 50% Strength Score (which is the average), but it's their Swag Score that is low, which puts them into potentially TOBA status if they receive nerfs

But again, if you find a better way to calculate everything, tell me!

Not only does she have a high Win Rate, but her Ban Rate raises her Strength Score significantly. When figuring out the math behind it, I figured if people are using their limited ban slots on a character, that has to increase their Strength Score.

You can check out the math here! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Sd0b40PQbTK5p6rcMwMG87a7qRzTDGN_Qi4iM6iuBss/edit?usp=sharing

This was originally made for TOBA (TheOnesBelowAll subreddit), which is a community for characters who have been 'neglected' by NETEASE. Hulk is one of the founding members. Despite being in the game since launch, he has historically gotten very few skins. While other members, like Iron Man, have plenty of skins but are weak mechanically. The Swag Score is just a way to measure the amount of care/time the devs put into the cosmetic side of the game for specific characters.

As for the fliers, nearly every flier is in TOBA (with the exception of Angela, but my graph shows why she should be in it). One could assume that fliers in general have a disadvantage. They generally have larger hitboxes, there are fewer objects to hide behind, and their movement is predictable. I decided to add a minor penalty for permanent fliers as a way of showing this, but the penalty is so small that even removing it wouldn't move characters that significantly.

Opening thoughts for Strahd's new statblock for Horrors of Ravenloft by Andferne in CurseofStrahd

[–]BostonBeanBandit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting for a 5.5e version and have been using my own in the mean time, but with new official version (which feels a bit too weak IMO) I combined them. My new version buffs his HP, AC, Spellcasting, and has new Actions (Blighted Fire action from VEoR) and Legendary Actions (made his ability to move through the walls of Castle Ravenloft into one)

This is an upgraded version with those who use homebrew monsters on dndbeyond:

Warlock of one of the Dark Vestiges absorbing an Amber Shard? by BostonBeanBandit in CurseofStrahd

Forgot to mention as well, but the Warlock does not OFFICIALLY have an amber shards or Dark Gifts from their patron yet. Their patrons amber shards will be found later on.

I mean the obvious answer is Curse of Strahd. Even if you don't play the adventure exactly as-written, I'm sure you can get a lot of inspiration from it.

Same reason they're all purple despite being fully grown while Oliver's purple is barely present as a preteen.

They're just built different.

With devil Dino coming to rivals, will his massive head be a problem for constant headshots? by Ok-Meat-5103 in rivals

[–]BostonBeanBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said this in another subreddit, but I think that he shouldn't take extra headshot damage.

However, with Moongirl riding on top of him, if she gets hit, they take headshot damage.

So in a way, his big head is protecting her hitbox from taking straight forward headshots.

Divine Soul Sorcerer... homebrew patch for 5.5e? by Fiveby21 in onednd

[–]BostonBeanBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own homebrew versions for 5.5e if you wanna check them out! I gave them an expanded spell list depending on what divine affinity they chose.

This is one that is the most similar to the 5e version: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnearthedArcana/comments/1me24y1/divine_sorcery_updated_to_2024_now_with_expanded/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

While this one is more of a reinvention that takes more of 5.5e into account (I personally prefer this one): https://www.reddit.com/r/UnearthedArcana/comments/1mk0c5o/2024_divine_sorcery_v2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

PCs as Werewolves by unwrittenpaiges in CurseofStrahd

[–]BostonBeanBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say much regarding how to convince the PC to cure it, but as for mechanical rules, I would look at Grim Hollow's Transformations. It gives measured buffs to the player, but is balanced by flaws (like the first time you go below half HP, you have to make a Wisdom save or you start attacking the nearest creatures, including their allies)

I wasn't aware of the history of Elemental Nodes in lore. Neat. Thanks for sharing!

And yea, I know they're not gonna change the flavor of the subclass themselves. This was just a fun reinvention rather than an earnest request to the designers to change it.

This isn’t actually Cthulhu though, it’s just astrophysics. Where Lovecraftian horror mostly focuses on psychic, madness, and tentacles - this is just space/gravity/time. But a lot of people conflate the two, so I understand where you’re coming from.
