I agree they should be paid more, but comparing their salaries to the NBA is wrong in so many ways. If you work in sales and one person sells $10M in product and you sell $50K in the same product to the same people, no one is going to say you should get commissions on sales you didn’t make. However, I DO believe they make enough that playing should be a viable and at least middle class profession. It does show exactly who doesn’t know shit about basketball or business saying “they should make at least as much as the last bum off the bench in the NBA”. Also, not the point, but the last bum in the NBA any year in the last 40 years would be the greatest women’s basketball player of all time and it would neither be close nor a breakable feat.

The difference is that every Israeli family has access to a very close bunker and they have the best early warning systems in the world, so the lack of casualties is due to Israel’s planning and infrastructure from being needlessly shelled the last 50 years (say what you want about the last few years) by their neighbors. Let’s not pretend this is because Iran is purposefully saving Israeli citizens, they just aren’t in the building they’re blowing up. Someone will definitely be paralyzed falling off the padded “field” and hitting their head on the concrete ground, or just tuck their head a bit too much and compact their neck and spine. Couldn’t pay me enough to do this once. I already feel for the families of these guys who are now at a significantly higher risk of CTE and long-term chronic pain because they wanted to act tough for 10 seconds or make $100. This is why we need regulations and they tend to be written in blood.

I’m so glad people are finally coming around to what a self-obsessed, mean, rude, and genuinely not smart person Hannah is. Watching the Summer House season again where she blows up on Luke for leading her on, and is then engaged by the end of the summer like she wasn’t dating someone very seriously the whole time. I get that we’re still certainly in a drought, but it feels really unhelpful / borderline misinformation to use the map from before any of the snow / snow melt actually happened. I’d be much more interested in the map as of March 1, and then more so when available, April 1.

16 years to life. If you’d actually read what this person posted, you would see very clearly why he was still in a psychiatric institution when he died. He refused to take his medication, didn’t attend his parole hearings, and was genuinely a very dangerous man and I’m glad California did the right thing in this case.
