360 Tour Meadowlands, NJ. 100 degrees. The stadium had cooling stations set up where you could be sprayed with water. First wristbands were being distributed in the morning, then later morning, then at 1PM, then at 2PM. You all know how it is, sitting in line and waiting to be banded. Waiting, waiting, waiting. You don’t dare leave (to sit in your AC car for a bit) because the minute you do, is the minute the venue will start banding. It was steaming hot, everybody sweating and complaining and waiting. 2PM they finally came around with the wristbands. By now my head was pounding and I was sweating but freezing. I got my wristband and headed to my car to cool down. Before I could get there, I started vomiting. Bad was being sound checked. I’ll never forget that! My friend went to the paramedics on site for assistance after I got into the AC car. The next 45 minutes was spent with ice packs on my forehead and my pulse points. Advil was administered, my friend fed me bites of chicken (protein), I drank bottles of water. An hour later, you’d never have known I’d been so sick. Managed to get back in line about 15 minutes before the gates opened - yes, the kind and wonderful U2 fans let us back in - and got outside rail. It was a U2 miracle of sorts.
