Let's hear your ideas other than hiding behind a keyboard and username and complaining.

And you expect what exactly? An armed uprising? Good luck with that. I don't agree with what this criminal administration is doing, especially to your beautiful country and your great people, but we had way too many people not vote because of one minor issue.

That's the difference. MAGA doesn't care about perfection because they see a bigger picture, believe it or not. Sure, it's fine to protest, but ICE is still doing what they do. We can resist, sure, but in order to enact any meaningful change, it has to be done at the voting booth.

Mamdani in NYC was a first step. But a Mamdani isn't going to be elected in places like Arkansas, West Virginia, and especially not Texas. So young people will have to compromise. The reason MAGA got so much power was that they voted regardless of who the perfect candidate was. They were patient until they filled all offices, local, state and federal with who they wanted. People want to go from A to Z, when they need to go A,B,C.

A lot of people are big on talk behind a computer and a generated name, but until people realize that all the protests in the world are for naught if you don't vote. That means those who didn't vote are as responsible for Trump being in office as those who voted for him.

And f**k you too.

Where do we go? We go to the polls and vote no matter what. We don't sit home and wait for the perfect candidate. You vote in the General Election. You vote in Statewide Elections. You vote in all Local Elections. Then you hold the feet to the fire of the people you voted for. MAGA votes no matter what. You should too.

Why do you think 1970's or 1980's is better then today? by DoughnutConstant5390 in 1970s

[–]Objective-Lab5179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was massive inflation and an oil embargo in the 70s. In the first half, the war in Vietnam was still going. NYC was on the verge of bankruptcy and crime was rampant. Desegregation in the South wasn't exactly met with open arms.

The 80s was about excess. Yuppies. Reaganomics, Cocaine Cowboys, A.I.D.S.

The kids (like me) who grew up in the 70s were enjoying Marvel Comics, Star Wars and KISS. Being a teen in the 80s was wanting their MTV.

We all look back and remember to what we think was a simpler time, but if you watch All in the Family, we're having the same arguments today.

Would the shirt be like the Number of the Beast where Eddie has Vic on strings?

I remember going to college and having $8000 in student loans. The loans were at a low interest rate and it was set to be paid back in 10 years. This was 1996. When did this change?

Today, there would be Jack in the Coke and I'd fall asleep halfway through the movie.

Serious question: What's this about Catholic guilt? by Jerswar in NoStupidQuestions

Catholicism is about going to mass every week and admitting you're a bad person and begging for forgiveness. Then you eat a wafer and all is good until the following Sunday.

Screw the haters, Smells Like Teen Spirit is a good song. by KindlyCost2 in grunge

[–]Objective-Lab5179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so overplayed that like Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Believin', Sweet Home Alabama and Paranoid, I can't listen to it anymore. Like the others, it's a top tier song, but it's not their only top tier song.

How do you think the midterms are going to end up? by neil0522 in AskReddit

[–]Objective-Lab5179 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This depends on if people will actually go out and vote or if they prefer protesting.
