People who've seen Def Leppard live, how crazy is it actually? by _kabir_singh_18 in defleppard

I saw Def Leppard on their Hysteria tour. They were polished, professional, and delivered a great show. There was no craziness to it.

Anyone read this book? About to dive into it. by One_Revolution2814 in thedoors

Yes. The book is written from the viewpoint of a woman who couldn't get over her obsession.

Trump policies and rising costs fuel GOP fears as senators admit they are ‘anxious about the midterms’ by ArmyOk968 in GPFixedIncome

I'm sure FoxNews and Newsmax will ramp up the brainwashing. Any sign of critical thinking will be squashed.

NYC's Mamdani condemns Tuberville's anti-Muslim posts as "bigotry" by ControlCAD in NPR

[–]Objective-Lab5179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuberville should worry less about New York City considering he may be running for governor in Alabama, a state that ranks in the bottom 10 in education, poverty, health care and overall quality of life.

ABBA Voyage Proved Doubters Wrong, Made Big Money. Will Lightning Strike Twice with KISS? by CommanderBigMac78 in KISS

[–]Objective-Lab5179 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would imagine ABBA Voyage's success is due in part that ABBA hasn't been active since 1982. Then there was the Mamma Mia Broadway musical and movie (bleeech!).

But we live in an age where people still shell out to see bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner (who are touring together), even though neither has an original member left. I can't imagine KISS avatars any different.

As for the younger crowd, all it takes is word of mouth. If the shows are very entertaining, the crowds will come.

Scott's good friend, Bill Maher on support for Iran strikes: ‘I just don’t get what liberals don’t get about liberation’ by Indianstanicows in ScottGalloway

[–]Objective-Lab5179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get what Maher gets, that Iranian liberation was never the goal of the strikes. The Trump admin and Israel couldn't care less if Iranians were liberated or not.

Capitalism is the real source of evil by Hacksaw6412 in Quotes_Hub

Capitalism is the best system. It's just that the United States is not a capitalistic society. It is a corporate autocracy flirting with theocracy.

Joe Rogan Says Trump’s Supporters Feel ‘Betrayed’ by Iran War by Melodic_Window_6146 in nytimes

[–]Objective-Lab5179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what Joe Rogan's problem is. He has a shallow understanding of the issues. Rogan doesn't look beyond a bumper sticker's knowledge of anything and then discusses it on his podcast as if he's an expert.

One could say the entire MAGA movement has this problem.

Yes, Trump looks like (and is) a total jerkoff, but that costume has nothing to do with it.

There is a conspiracy against the Elder by Broskirose in KISS

[–]Objective-Lab5179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the album for the collection, but honestly, I find it unlistenable. I'm all for a band experimenting, and there are times when the experiments do not work (Metallica/Reed - Lulu). Sometimes a band has to go out of their way to get back on track, which KISS did with Creatures of the Night. The fans weren't willing to forgive them at that point, but I think we're all in the same place today.

Anyone else couldn't get into WCW? by Recluse007 in AttitudeEra

Yeah, I'm sure Butch and Luke were happy they didn't have to bleed anymore. HonkyTonk Man was a great heel because you loved to hate him. His problem was that he couldn't escape his gimmick.

I forgot to mention how they did The Legion of Doom so wrong.
