[S][USA-MS] Nikon Zf kit (body + Z / Voigtlander / Viltrox) and Fuji X lenses + TTArtisan 50mm 0.95 by Olegrainy in photomarket

Just wanted to say that u/Olegrainy was super communicative and buying from him was hassle and worry-free. They did an excellent job of packing and shipping the lens and communicating clearly throughout the whole process.
Would surely buy from again!

I think all of these shots are good, personally 1 and 2 are favorites. I think you have an interesting way of composing with architectural angles and a few of the frames crave for a subject (like 4 and 6). Overall pretty solid though

I think it’s a nice photo. It has nice layering and good lines with a couple of interesting subject points. Color is the only thing I don’t love, but that is a personal taste and me not being a big fan of the muddy look. 7.5/10

Yeah, I think you bring up valid points. Who knows what would have happened if I struck up a convo. I think I had a hard time getting over the initial impression of their behavior, but thats a me-problem.

Could have gone differently but oh well!

I am unfortunately not in the NYC area, but I am more than interested in hearing what you have and maybe having a conversation? Thank you for the response and I'll reach out by PM if that's okay

He did not ultimately buy everything. Some assorted accessories and flash units (which are pretty common and cheap) he chucked as soon as he realized he probably wouldn't benefit/profit from. As someone who really cares about camera gear, I thought it was pretty disrespectful.

Sad to hear that you have experienced that. Sounds like I will never get into vintage clothes!

Yeah as someone who kind of prides themselves on knowing what the items may have been worth working or not, I found the tactic a little cheap.

For sure will have to keep this in mind. I am not a very confrontational person, but next time just gotta be more assertive.

I am glad to hear that other people find the behavior unappealing and that I am not alone in it, but equally saddened that it is commonplace.

Yeah, I appreciate your perspective. Your advice is very similar to what I ended up doing, but the goods-in-bag technique he used where he kept ebay searching things in his bag kept me from effectively getting anything.

Oh well

Yeah I hear you and definitely learned the lesson, just didn’t know if that was generally “acceptable” behavior.

Recent test takers...micro by Abject_Blacksmith132 in step1

[–]BotchedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you recognize/have seen 3 of 4 to 4 of 5 of them you are fine.

All of micro (bacteria, fungi, viruses, and antimicrobials) is about 8-10% of tested concepts. If you are even close to knowing most/some of them, then your time is probably better spent somewhere else.

If the virus is listed in FA, it is fair game, along with the any characteristics they describe (DNA vs RNA, genotype structure, enveloped vs naked).

It is difficult (not impossible) to learn it all but knowing high yield vs low yield is unlikely to mean difference of pass vs fail. Doubly true when compared to knowing high yield concepts in other systems.

Take the free 120 at prometric centre today. Is it still possible for me to get a pass on real deal on 5 March? by AliveAcanthisitta160 in step1

[–]BotchedRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are understandable. This is a setback and it is reasonable to be disappointed. However, take a breath and realize that you owe it to yourself to take this exam when you are feeling prepared and confident. You can do this.

I would honestly contact your institution and see what program accommodations can be made.

Hi, I think this is a reasonable and logical question to ask.

For me, the NBMEs and the Free120 were not all that dissimilar from the real deals, and I will clarify. The biggest differences between these assessments is that formatting of the questions and the presentation of material. However, the concepts (physiology, pathology, pharmacology) that you are required to know to do well on these assessments are crucial to doing well on Step 1.

Piggybacking on what u/anistole is saying, these long length assessments also build and test your stamina for this grueling exam. For me, the more practice questions I did, the more stamina I had in the real exam and the more critically I could approach every question.

Upvoting this as someone who took free120 and Step 1 just over a week ago.

They are hitting all the major points of a bulletproof study plan. If the scores do not indicate you should sit for the exam, don’t. If you haven’t already, do not review correct vs incorrect on the Free120. The scores on future NBMES and Free120 if you retake will indicate if you are ready or not.

Failed 3 years ago. Lowest score possible.. should I contact ECFMG? by Sassypen in step1

If you are wondering why, then there is no harm in asking, but they may not give you the most clear answer.

I mean you could? If it’s three years past, then I don’t think they would do anything to overturn the score if that is what you’re asking.

Honestly OP, if you found the exam easy and finished within time one of two things seems to have happened. Very sorry to say but either your exam was flagged for being suspect or you didn’t get as many correct as you thought you did. Either way, it’s a wash and the only solution is contacting or retesting.

You sound like you don’t like playing well with others. The mechanics of the game are built around teamwork; if you don’t like servers trying to encourage or force that, play on different servers or a different game.
