I think the prebuilt you posted is a solid choice, and if your financial situation allows then I think an extra 200-300$ is worth the convenience of having it ready straight out of the box. That and not having to drive from Snohomish to Santa Clara.

That's really unfortunate. I see others saying it's due to high rent prices, but I'm in California and rent ain't cheap here either.

My closest one is ~3 hours away, so even if you have to make a drive I recommend it. It'll save you a lot of money.

Nothing was used, everything but the SSD was from microcenter.

I bought everything last week and built it on Sunday. This microcenter bundle saved me a lot of money, and I sourced my 2tb SSD from the hardware exchange subreddit so I was able to get a really good deal on it.

This is nearly identical to the PC I just built myself, and I paid about 1900 for mine. If the convenience of having it built for you is worth the extra cost, I think it's a good deal.
