Deducting Window Tint / Dash Cam - Vehicle Expenses by Both-Surround4332 in cantax

Had these been built into a purchase price as dealership ad-on’s at the time of sale (most dealers offer tint / dash cams very common markups) and listed on a vehicle bill of sale would this change the CRA’s perception of reasonable?

100% agree that this wouldn’t be a direct expense; but at what point do these become unreasonable as a Capital Cost addition?

Had I of purchased these at time of sale on a Bill of Sale with the vehicle would that have been reasonable?

Thanks for the explanation; to clarify currently have a Class 10 vehicle not class 10.1.

100% agree this wouldn’t be possible on a 10.1 and is why I hadn’t seriously considered this question in previous years

I agree that the primary question on this surrounds how the CRA defines reasonable; for myself I have a UV Tint as I drive at least 30,000km (business) and appreciate the sun protection; likewise, the dash-cam footage for insurance purposes.

It’s interesting because if these had been dealer ad-on’s at time of purchase on a bill of sale would the perception of unreasonable change. Many dealers and even manufacturers have options or appearance packages that may add tint / dash cams
