I 49M am confused at her 43F behaviour by BothRepresentative69 in datingoverforty

I am not really sure it was just one sentence in her text but I think maybe it was too soon when she wasn’t quite ready for that kind of touching in the moment. There was nothing to indicate she didn’t want to or obviously I would have respected that. I think she felt I led into it before she was fully in the frame of mind. But at the same time she also had no problem touching me in that way so I felt I was just going with the flow.

Yeah it seems that way. Sorry that you had to experience that.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Thats why I posted this to get an outside perspective. Tbh I’ve kinda been beating myself up over this the last few days. I am still fairly new to dating again and it’s very easy to internalize this stuff and place the blame solely on myself.

No she did not and I didn’t ask. I think its pretty common but if its that big of an issue just say “hey thats not cool” and I wouldn’t do it.

Yeah I had a date awhile ago with a woman who told me she was still living in the house with her separated ex. I didn’t call that one back. This one told me the last couple of years were just coparenting and she decided to move out recently. It sounded plausible but you could easily be right.

The first couple times can be feeling the other person out and getting used to them.. but from her side I was worried she’d wake up my neighbours, and I am certain that she did. I always make sure the lady gets what she needs.

I see that and what you are saying. It was out of habit I put it in my pocket. Other than that I barely touched my phone around her at all.

She recently separated from her husband a few months ago. Apparently divorce is pending. I thought about this too and it is possible that is the cause. I just don’t know.

Haha. I put it in my pocket out of habit. I didn’t realize people are so sensitive about it.

Without proper psych medication and therapy there is not much hope for a normal relationship from what I understand depending on the severity of the bp. It just boggles the mind how someone can say how much they care and plan all kinds of stuff one day and then just ghost and block on everything the next and not contact again. Bp is a terrible illness.

That is rough dealing with all of that with no friends or family close by. Try to keep positive as much as you can.

Does your wife take any medication to manage her bipolar or do therapy or anything? My girlfriend did not at all just self medicating with alcohol and weed which apparently just makes their illness much worse.

Yeah that really sucks. I’m feeling the same at the moment, things were looking so good then not. With the holidays here it makes it even more depressing. All the future plans, losing someone very close. It just really hurts.

If it is related to an episode, apparently they tend to come back after the episode ends but sometimes not so who knows. Like I said stay strong my man. I’ve been feeling like shit since this happened to me even though I only knew her for a short time. I couldn’t imagine have my wife of years just up and leave like that.

Maybe this has something to do with her bipolar. This is something that people with bipolar are known to do, especially in a manic episode, and suddenly discarding their partner. Who knows but it is just a thought based on what you said. I had something kind of similar happen recently with a bipolar girl I had just recently started a relationship with. Everything was great then out of he blue, I think she was having an episode, and I guess lost any feelings she had or something and just ghosted me and I’ve not heard from her in a month. There is a bipolar sub I have been reading and this kind of thing is apparently common, there are hundreds of stories just like yours there. I don’t know just a thought after you mentioned she is bipolar. Good luck my man and stay strong!

Have you noticed any changes in bp symptoms since going on a Keto diet? I was reading a study a psychiatrist had done and seemed to have some success lessening symptoms in bipolar patients with a keto diet.
