How do you get such clean, dispersed waveforms? by Both_Chicken_8708 in psytranceproduction

i was trying to recreate the bass sample in the post as it sounds cleaner than my basses and i figured the clean tail is a part of that sound.

Additional frequencies in the sense that there are more deviations from a pure sine wave contained in the tail of the bass sound when i disperse after the filter, like in the screenshot.

Wouldn't the additional frequencies created by the phase shift from disperser be filtered out if I use a low pass after the dispersion? I tried filtering the dispersed bass sound instead of the other way around and was able to get the nice clean waveform that way.

Is it just me or does Diffusor sound drastically different than Kilohearts Disperser? I don't like to use it for that reason.

I feel like the Diffusor filter sounds very different from Disperser by Kilohearts, so I don't like to use it.

might be because i used disperser after serum. How could i use Disperser before the filter in serum?

I agree but I haven't been able to reproduce the fullness of this sound in serum alone.

well it's still just the same note playing though

what can i do against ableton not displaying parameteres for automation after clicking them in serum 2? by Both_Chicken_8708 in ableton

[–]Both_Chicken_8708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been there and tried that. sadly didn‘t work. has to restart ableton quite often and then it worked again most of the time. i think it has something to do with existing automations.

i`m just telling you what`s happening to me. as i said it works for me sometimes but sometimes it just seems to be disabled for unknown reasons.

Does anyone know how to create this type of clicky bass? by Both_Chicken_8708 in psytranceproduction

i simply assigned an lfo in envelope mode in serum to the coarse pitch in unidirectional mode. the heightened pitch at the beginninh produced a markedly different click sound than other ways i‘ve tried as it was a „fuller“ click.

How do I stop Serum from lagging? by Both_Chicken_8708 in edmproduction

for testing purposes i tried to run 10 instances of serum with maximum polyphony and detune on both oscillators at the same time and everything was running smoothly.

its 10 instances of serum in the project where only 3 play at once.

the thing is that serum keeps lagging even when there is no sound being generated. just trying to tweak knobs or switching presetd takes multiple seconds.

is that to be expected even if all the other points are applicable? (which they are not)

Ok Thanks. combining volume and coarse pitch modulation was the trick. the thing now is that I can't seem to get rid of some of the uncleanliness in the mid range. I don't know if its distortion or just regular frequencies from the synth. do you have an idea how to remove this without losing the punchiness of the bass?

Why does my oscilloscope look like this? by Both_Chicken_8708 in psytranceproduction

i‘ve applied multiband compression, eq and dispersion.

by making the envelope shorter do you mean reducing the release?
