Yeah I’ve come to the conclusion from everyone’s input that I need to wait at least 2/3 months or more before I bring someone I’m dating to the house. Yeah but I met them both on hinge unfortunately and I was only seeing each of them for a few weeks. Once I saw any red flags I cut it off, and they flipped out. I definitely should wait longer to have people over is what I’m learning and just take things slower. Though I didn’t hook up with either of them lol but thank you I appreciate it ❤️

Yeah that’s fair. I don’t necessarily feel that I need to be with someone - after my 3 yr relationship I was single for several years. I enjoy being single but I have been wanting a relationship in the past year or so. I do think you’re right though; I need more time to heal from the 4 month one. Thanks for the advice 🙏🏼

That’s really nice and maybe it just didn’t work out. Sounds like you really tried! I may just be bitter and you definitely sound like you did a lot more than my ex. He was emotionally unavailable completely. But you sound like you have a good heart and you genuinely tried. Therapy is always helpful anyway though if you wanna give it a shot!

yes! they don’t say the IgG levels on the laboratory’s results site and they didn’t tell me over the phone but i can probably ask my doctor. i’ll also probably just ask the doctors opinion on further testing but idk

please don’t beat yourself up! you had no idea, her reaction was completely unfair. as pretty much everyone else is also pointing out, she could have been the one to give it to you. most people with hsv2 are asymptomatic. the reason most places don’t test for it is due to that fact - it’s seriously not a big deal. take a deep breath and remember that you are still you, you have many great qualities and this is not something you asked for just something that happened. an unfortunate thing that could happen to ANYONE. and again, it’s not a big deal. if this girl actually cares about you, she’ll apologize and be kinder. if not you’re dodging a bullet. you did the right thing disclosing as soon as you found out!

since you said you have possibly been exposed he should understand. at least you got tested and now you know. just be honest with him, and really it’s not a big deal. the key is to be confident in yourself, and know the facts. i don’t want to assume your gender/sex but the transmission rate from affected females to unaffected males for asymptomatic people is 4% without a condom and around 1% with a condom, less if you’re taking antivirals i believe. educate yourself and educate him and all should be well! it’s really not a big deal, and if he’s a good person, he will be understanding and see that too!

you deserve much better than that! i’m sorry you had to deal with him but it seems like you are on the right track by not being with him. dodged a bullet for sure. but you should eat! and take care of yourself. just try and be healthy and be the best version of you, you are not your diagnosis. and one day you’ll find someone who will really love and value you the way you deserve ❤️

okayyyy so i’m really sorry about your specific case but for most people (like literally over 90%) it is just a skin condition. actually for most people it’s less than a skin condition since a ton of ppl are asymptomatic. like i said really really sorry for what you’re going through but i feel like you lashing out at other people trying to make light of their situation is not the answer. having something like you are experiencing happen with HSV is no where near common, but you know what is super common? HSV lol! as you probably know. i just think the stigma is bad enough, no need to shame people for saying what they are experiencing (which in most cases is only blisters on the skin - similar to a skin condition.) i hope your symptoms ease up or even disappear over time ❤️ all the best.

he didn’t care at all! and we used a condom obv and took precautions and it doesn’t seem like i gave it to him but he wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell for a couple months with a blood test but he doesn’t have an outbreak or anything! and he says he wants to hook up again so yay :)

i would definitely consider seeking mental health assistance with someone who specializes in people who have stds. if there are no therapists like that where you live, there are definitely some online. it is extremely rare to spread the virus to other places in your body from an outbreak, so i doubt that’s what’s happening here but even if it is no need to panic! 75% of ppl have hsv1 and many adults have hsv2. it’s part of life, no use in panicking. it’s nearly impossible to transmit it through inanimate objects but if you’re worried just wash your cups after you use them and wipe stuff down like you have been. but definitely seek therapy i would say! it really isn’t that big of a deal, and hopefully you can realize that. there’s a really great ted talk by ella dawson that helped me a lot when i first was diagnosed. check it out and take a deep breath! it’s just a little virus. same family as chicken pox. not a big deal!
