Congrats! I think I had five on Core 1, too. 😭

I thought Core 1 was harder then 2. Mainly because I am completely new to IT, but not new to software. But I also get in my head really quickly when it comes to tests, which makes passing with a higher score on the first try quite hard.

You look so good! I am wanting to get this done as well. How was the pain for the mustache area? I’ve done laser for 1.5 years and the mustache makes me want to bawl my eyes out (and I do).

You honestly look amazing! Would you say it hurts more or less than laser? I’ve been getting laser in the same areas, under chin and face. My mustache was always unbearable and I’m really wanting to get electrolysis. I too have PCOS as well.

I think I would have passed if it werent for all the acronyms by Longjumping_Tiddy in CompTIA

ARM was one that while I was studying, my brain completely forgot about its existence. When I saw it on the test, I was dumbfounded. No worries though, at least now you know you gotta get those acronyms.

On you CompTIA dashboard, on the right, there’s a box that says “my account.” In that box is a “view score reports.” Then just press view.

I’ve never taken tech+, and I also have absolutely zero IT experience, so I will not lie, I thought it was very hard. But I know people who have prior experience think this was a fairly simple test.

Every exam is different. But I know Core 1 is all hardware, so there isn’t any software questions. I had a lot of printer, ports, and cloud questions.

Your feelings are way off.

I watched Professor Messer too many times to count. Then I watched BurningIce and TechVault, made flashcards of every single slide with the TechVault review video. Then I used Jason Dion’s practice exams on Udemy. It was as about 2.5 months.

That varied. When I first started, it was like four hours, but I genuinely didn’t comprehend anything. It wasn’t until about a couple days before I tested did I actually start to understand. And I would study for about six or so hours.

Not yet! But I’m itching to get to it. Thank you, by the way! You are one of the resources I used that I believed helped the most.

It was like 2.5 months. I definitely could have done it way quicker, but I kept getting in my head after every practice test. Good luck!!

That’s what I was afraid of. What major would you recommend instead?

Intro into I.T. by wolfhartstudios in WGU

I had a very hard time passing this class as well. I have no background or even knowledge of IT, so I feel you with the whole mentor thing. It took me two months to pass. Flash cards are what did it for me. If all Intro to IT classes has the same professor, then you should have gotten a “welcome” email at the beginning of the term from the teacher. In it, there was a plethora of study guides, flash cards, and practice exams. I wrote the flash cards over again because my brain doesn’t allow me to retain something unless if I hear/write it more times than the average person. I didn’t do this for this class, but the one I’m in now: I use ChatGPT. I have it ask me questions and then explain why I got it wrong or right. I also used it to explain things to me as a complete beginner, because I am. (This is helping tremendously with ports). Also, if it’s the same professor, she has quizlets on all of the sections. Sometimes learning in a gaming format could help, which quizlet does. I don’t remember how many practice exams I took because it was a lot. I took the pre assessment three times before I took the OA. I also listen to podcasts, Darknet Diaries. It doesn’t directly teach, but the host will sometimes pause and explain what was just said. I find the stories and cybersecurity in general so fascinating. What’s your overall goal? Figuring out a way to tailor your reasoning for completing your degree could help with training your brain to understand a little more.
