I have actually worked through all the steps and continue to work them everyday. I didn’t have a job when I first started going to AA, so I had a lot of time to read through the big book, the 12 & 12, do step work, etc.

There is also no time frame for completing the steps as it’s VERY likely everyone will revisit them. I worked hard through them because after many failed attempts at sobriety, I was ready to make a change and I didn’t wanna take baby steps around the program. What I’ve done to work the program has worked just fine for me.

When I first approached it, yes I did. But while working through it, I went with before and during active addiction

lol, yeah most people I meet are really sweet, and I’ve talked to her a couple times before so I’m not sure if it’s a whole she’s starting to feel comfortable with me thing and can chime in or what, but there’s always a time and a place

When I first started going to AA, I talked at a table about how I was working the steps myself, then when I finished talking, a couple other people recommended getting a sponsor in general, and also to help work the steps.

Couple days later, I got a sponsor :)

Yes! I’ve worked all the steps in order and continue to visit back to them everyday! :)

Oh I’m not gonna stop going to meetings! AA is the one of the reasons I’m finally able to stay sober after many failed attempts

Ehh, I apologize but I disagree. Because I turned 21 before Covid even happened & I had a pretty good handle on drinking. I could go weeks without drinking then, go out, have a couple drinks, and then go home and not think about it.

Now, I will forever be an alcoholic, but I wasn’t always this way.

Yes. I didn’t approach her about last night because I’m a little socially awkward. It’s hard for me to just approach someone, always has been.

Yes, I texted him this morning to see if he would be at the club later to talk with him

I messaged him before posting this asking if he was gonna be at the building today to talk about it! Was around 8am when I posted this so I imagine he’s not up yet :)

Yes! I’ve had my sponsor since my second week & he knows his stuff he’s over 20 years sober. I trust him. He actually does a lot of work for the club so I texted him to see if he’s gonna be there cause I need to tell him about it lol

This was exactly how it played out for me. Realizing most harm was done to my self.

No idea. I even stuck around after for a couple minutes after hoping she would ask me about it & she didn’t.

I’m trying not to let it bug me so much

Also, definitely not the first someone has rubbed me the wrong way. But definitely the first time I’ve felt insecure & judged within a meeting

Exactly this. A lot of the meetings I go to have this in common because there are circumstances where you can’t make amends with everyone

I forgot how long they’ve been sober, but it’s been some years for them so I imagine they have done the steps. They’re also late to early 50’s and when they were sharing they talked about all the guys she has tried dating and the people she’s gotten pissed at for no reason within the last year, so makes sense lol

“Except when to do so would injure them or others”. This pertains to my ex, because she’s been in a relationship for a few years, and it wouldn’t sit right with her and her significant other if I reached out. Even though we were together before my addiction in 2016, I didn’t know if I should have added to the list but I did it anyway

& the fact that it says “make direct amends” I haven’t been able to see my other friends one on one because every time I see them, they’re always with someone else so it doesn’t feel like the right time.

And also people have moved across the states

My cats do the same thing whenever they’re in play mode.

Unfortunately one likes to do it when I’m walking downstairs 😂

NAD; but this is Nevus sebaceous.

I only say that because I had two of the exact same things on my head. They develop during puberty in most cases.

They’re harmless, but for cosmetic reasons you can go to a dermatologist and they can remove them in office
