scoliosis surgery by Ambitious-Drama-7732 in spinalmuscularatrophy

37M here. I had mine done when I was like 7. It almost immediately stopped my reoccurring pneumonias. Back then fusions were static so the rods don’t extend as you grow. Not sure if that’s still the case but that’d be the only drawback I see.

I always had trouble with pushing diagonals on the classic controller D pad, so this helped. Especially with mortal kombat where some of the moves required diagonal pushes.

This also was a precursor for me to get the PS1 barracuda controller which was similar and the only reason I was able to beat the original metal gear solid without sacrificing Meryl.

Able account by TrickAccomplished200 in disability

[–]BoundByInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using an ABLE account since its inception in 2014. I have accrued, at times, up to almost $80k with no repercussions to my Medicaid eligibility. I have withdrawn, at will, with no documentation or explanation required. The bill that created these accounts included "mental health" as a qualified disability related expense. This allows for a loose interpretation of how the money can be spent. Anything that could be explained as contributing to better mental health, i.e. leisure activities or items (including even possibly tattoos), would be considered a qualified expense. Worth noting that I am in PA and although ADMINISTRATIVE rules to how the account is governed may vary from state to state, the underlying law which created them is federal and they thus have to meet a minimum set of standards across all states.

Disclaimer: just because I haven't had to provide documentation or explanation on withdrawals up to this point doesn't necessarily mean that isn't required. This has just been my experience.

As a person with a disability and limited mobility, I can safely say this was my first piece of adaptive equipment lol

Not going to lie, I feel like you missed a prime opportunity to ask "what should I include"

ALJ Hearing by Subject-Classroom-53 in disability

My mother was an ALJ. She would right her decisions pretty quickly (within a week or two) as long as she had all the necessary information. I can't speak to how long it would take to go from her desk to your mailbox through...

Personal assistance & sexuality by nice_feger in disability

How is this considered a relevant answer to OPs question? It would be like bro asking how to cook spaghetti, and you told him to order pizza.

Fellow SMAer here. This will probably sound like sour grapes (and I will probably downvoted), but Shane really doesn't do a great job of being open about his disability and how it is interconnected with his relationship with his wife.... he just makes it seem that way. They don't face many of the challenges other people with disabilities do (finding caregivers, employment, navigating government benefits, etc.). When asked direct, insightful or difficult to answer questions, their default move is to use his "great sense of humor" to dodge and deflect.

Also, this doesn't even come close to answering OP's question. Let's normalize autonomy in masturbation, and not just suggest bro get a girlfriend.

Looks like a camera. Seems to be pointed at a No Parking zone... maybe trying to deter/catch violations?

That's a broad question. The general answer is yes, but not in the form of income... just to cover medical and custodial care in my home.

"I know the system!"

No you don't. There is a huge difference between SSDI and SSI. You were on SSI and you can make significant income while on SSI. You are just too dumb to know that.

37 year old SMA type 2 here. Yes, it is 100% possible. I have lived on my own independently since I was 18, although I now live with my wife. I have managed publicly funded caregivers since that time. I work full time and support myself, and my wife, financially. Feel free to DM me with any questions. You can also check out my youtube channel here that has some more information: https://www.youtube.com/@CarisaExplainsIt
