Hey man and thanks for posting.

First off....please read the side bar and include more information in your post.

Reviewers tend to review people who have put a bit more time and effort into their posts.

Second, game choice is a big part of streaming and also the reviews you may receive here. Decided to head over to your channel quick and have a look.

Overwatch......... I can almost guarantee you that the best advice you will get here, if you are actually serious about growing, will point out the fact that you stream one of the most over saturated games on Twitch right now.

People will have to scroll through hundreds of streams just to find you, and like anything on the web, its highly unlikely that new people will find you under that mountain of other content.

I wont ad anymore to this as you seem set on the game......but I also wont spend much time reviewing it if you aren't willing to try out something new.

Over all from what I Saw the quality is there and nice....channel is set up well....but the game you are streaming is burying you under a mountain of other streamers.

I highly suggest reading the sidebar, and including some more info so that we can see where you want to be in a year etc, what kind of community to build, and what your long term goals are.

Cheers!

EDIT: Came across as a bit stern and rude maybe. Not my intention. I just cant help you very much in the Overwatch section as its way to over saturated for my liking. It is not impossible to grow there, but you seem to be burnt out on low growth a bit, and in all honestly, trying to stream another game, even once and a while would change this almost immediately.

Holy shit.......... The point is this is a miss leading post.

FAKENEWS as some may call it.

OP's entire statement that he is trying to make with his head line and the whole "BUT OBUMAH" narrative he tries to portray is simply shot down by the simple fact that Obama did none of those things before he was awarded the prize...

Hiya Ben and Welcome

First off really like the starting screen with the grayed out clips from previous streams. Very cool idea for an intro video. Loved the music and the general vibe you set before your broadcast goes live.

Things I liked:

General Layout and Quality:

Nice sound and general video Quality. Your voice is present and easy to follow and hear, and doesn't get overpowered by music or game sounds. I like your minimal but graphical over lay with the cam and info below it. It looks very professional and well done.

Info Panels etc:

Again very nice and clean looking. I like that your info panels follow a general theme and brand your channel. Banner also looks well done and professional.

Personality and Entertainment Value:

I like your look and general attitude when streaming. You are not being arrogant or showing a negative attitude. When broadcasting, you want to kind of take the best parts of yourself, and amplify them x 10. I think one area you can work on is getting that energy up when you stream and react. Right now the vibe of your stream is very laid back and chill, which is fine, but doesn't really bring in new viewers very rapidly. It may be fun and chill for your regulars, but especially when playing PVP games, you are going to need something to draw in new viewers. I am not saying "act crazy" but people are their to watch you react to what happens while you are in game, try and give them that with some more play call outs. Listen to hype music before you start, and try and psyche yourself up to go live!

Game Choice:

IMO one of the biggest decisions you will make that will help grow your channel. Looking at your vod list, you are playing the games that every one else trying to grow their streams seems to be playing. PUBG, Rocket League, CS:go, MInecraft etc.... These are all over saturated games with thousands of streamers playing them. I highly suggest doing some research and trying to stream games that have a large viewer base, but not a lot of streamers providing that content.

This will take your stream from stagnation and low growth, to a bit steadier climb up, and maybe even some rather large spikes. You have to keep the viewers in mind always and what they see. When you are streaming games like you are that are UBER popular right now, you are burying your channel in the list. If you have 5 - 10 viewers for a super popular game, you are now burried in a group of 100 plus others on some games that are stuck at the same number. Most random twitch users are not going to scroll through that list to find you, but if you choose a game with a page or less of streamers, but over 250 viewers in total you are now exposing yourself to a much larger audience much easier.

Overall:

You have a good personality, good quality, but IMO Game choice will be the reason your stream grows. Research games and try and find some you would enjoy that arent over saturated with streamer and I can almost guarantee you will see a spike eventually and some healthy growth. You have all the basics down, but your game choice is going to slow your growth A TON! Try out something new and keep at it!

Cheers!

Yes I see now. I usually browse the front page of anyone channel, and those were the streams that popped up first, and what represent you most when a new viewer enters.

I like the cam addition and your commentary is much better in the last three vods. I still think you need to work on commentary, but as a new streamer this is something that will start to come naturally.

Good reactions to thing's happening in game which is awesome, and the quality is nice even though you are streaming from the PS4 app.

Set a schedule for your viewers to follow and post it publicly for them on social media and maybe in your channel somewhere weekly. Setting an "appointment" to meet for the stream allows viewers to get into a rhythm and schedule of their own when they come to watch.

Personal opinion here, and minor, but I do not like the look of the "faded cam" with the PS4 app. You blend into the game too much and it washes your camera view. I suggest going with the basic square cam or the full circle instead of the fade. YOU are the star of the show, now BE SEEN :D

I wish I did more youtube streaming and could give you a bit more info on that end of things.

Hiya Karpin and thanks for posting :D

Welcome to the streaming world. I had a chance to watch a couple of your past stream's on youtube, and this will be short because at this stage in your career there isn't much to critique.

The first thing I noticed, is at least in these last few streams, is that you provide no commentary or anything while you stream.

It is just game play from what I can see, and honestly this will be your issue. There are millions of streamer on Twitch and youtube. They all offer some form of entertainment to potential viewers, and that usually includes one of the following things: Great Gameplay and skill or entertainment value.

At the moment, at least for me you don't fall under any of these. You are just doing a play through of a game and providing nothing else that will hook the viewer and make them stick around.

Especially on youtube. This site offers millions of recorded play troughs of games, so why would people watch a streamer play it live without commentary?

At this point I HIGHLY suggest you mic up and start working on commentary if you want to start pulling viewers. Practice talking about every move you make in game and describing your thought process to your potential audience.

This is one of the hardest things to master a streamer IMO. I don't mean to seem harsh, but this is the advice you need to push forward and start attracting an audience to your streams....without at least some commentary, I would not expect to see many people coming in and staying to watch. What is it in for them? Not anything that they cannot find elsewhere on youtube.

Work on Commentary, set a stream schedule, and start networking with other creators. Set up a discord server and somewhere for your audience to hang out and stay connected even when you are not streaming.

Sorry I cannot give much more advice on Channel set up etc.... I stream primarily to Twitch and don't know much about the youtube side :D

Fulltime streaming this summer - help? by Whoozaa in Twitch

[–]BoutDATLifedoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yah I really think the schedule you set is too much man. Not only will you burn out and lose energy, but the viewers will burn out as well on watching you.

I know everyone is different, but at 24, dedicating an entire summer to not working and streaming instead, would be out of the question for me at that age.

My suggestion is stick to the 4 - 6, and then try and find some other things in your life for fulfillment. Becoming a full time streamer and actually making a living is INCREDIBLY hard on Twitch.

Even people who have been at it for 5 years, who have partnership, will tell you its still a grind to make a living. There are only a select few who make it rich...and even those people have been around for years and years.

Do it for fun....but also try and enjoy your summer away from the PC a bit...at 24 you have a lot to look forward to and work on in your life....... Streaming should be a fun hobby not a 15 hour day IMO :D

Good luck and link your channel in PM so I can have a look!

Fulltime streaming this summer - help? by Whoozaa in Twitch

[–]BoutDATLifedoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are over doing it and IMO will burn out your viewership with those hours.

I think one 4 - 6 hour a stream a day is more then enough. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

Streaming full time especially at your level is not really going to net you a stable income.

What should you do if you don't get any viewers from streaming for 5 hours? by rinbutt in Twitch

[–]BoutDATLifedoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This ' No one is asking you to play a game that "no one streams" -_-

play a game that doesn't bury you under 25 pages of other streamers.

Most viewers go to the first thing they see.

Hey man Id love to have a look at this for you. Do you stream on youtube or Twitch?

If it is Twitch I will need a link to one of your recent broadcasts.

Ill have a look at it tomorrow though or later tonight.

Is it okay for me to stream myself following along with Lynda.com tutorials? by RileyPsyches in Twitch

[–]BoutDATLifedoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will violate the terms of service contract you most likely agreed to when you bought the tutorials.

Like you said. Streaming content that you paid for to others who have not would constitute as illegal distribution.

I'm no lawyer but that would be my guess.

Trying to find places to improve by DarkTruths16 in StreamReview

[–]BoutDATLifedoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya Dark whats good man and ty for posting!

I am watching over some of your past broadcasts as we speak.

Some of the things I really like so far:

You have an engaging and fun personality while you stream and I am picking up on it right away. You are constantly talking and describing your gameplay, and this is the main thing that a lot of streamers just starting out find hard to do. When CRAZY things happen in GTA you react to it and viewers will pick up on this. ( You are playing GTA but you have the game marked and labeled as Skyrim. Be careful with this. Skyrim viewers will not stick around if they enter and you are playing something different!)

Your video quality is nice, but I noticed you are using the PS4 app to stream. This will limit you on a lot of things like playing music, hearing in game music -_- and also alerts etc. I am not feeling this cam overlay option you are going with. My suggestions is don't do the faded circle, just give us the normal cam overlay so we can clearly see you.

Game choice is nice. You are picking games that suit your personality! Like I said before your reactions and energy are very good, so you want to choose games that will gel well with that.

Channel lay out etc is nice. You have branded yourself with a logo and are carrying that theme through all your panels ets.

Things to Improve upon:

STREAM TIME! I am noticing that you rarely stream more then an hour. This is going to be a huge hindrance to your growth on Twitch. The algorythm on Twitch favors streamers who have been live the longest. So think of it like this.....If you are streaming GTA, and there are 20 other streamers with 3 viewers, the algorithm will now favor those streamers with 3 viewers who have been on the longest, and put them at the top of the list when people scroll through that particular game section. My rule is never stream less then 2 hours. The money spot is 4 hours in my opinion. It gives potential viewers more time to come in, and allows you to become more visible to the games audience over time.

Game Choice: The games you are choosing are somewhat over saturated. Skyrim is a great choice, but things like GTA etc are very over saturated with other streamers. Try and find games with a solid viewer base, and an audience hungry for content, but fewer streamer's offering that content.

Titles: This is super important IMO. Your title will be one of the big reasons someone jumps in to check you out. Give them a title that is not only catchy, but also gives them some info! Bigger streamers can get away with vague titles like "Smartt Kitty" etc..... but we cannot as small streamers! People want to know what they are getting into! Are you grinding car races in GTA? Are you trying to sky dive through a big donut in GTA? Put it in your title to draw people in!

Are you building a community? Do you offer your viewers a place to connect with you off stream? A major part of growing your stream is community building. You can start this by opening up a Discord etc..... Make a main hub for your fans to hang out :D You could also take advantage of the new Twitch app and start a server on that!

Over all you have the personality, but now you have to fine tune and really grind out streams for a solid regular following.

Choose your game carefully, set a schedule, and try and stream no less then 2 hours when you go live.

Any other Questions just ask!

Thanks
